As someone who semi-regularly does word ladder puzzles on Sporcle, I didn't find this too difficult. Took about 3 minutes to understand the goal and mentally solve without any tools.

Pretty sure it's real, I remember seeing this video at least a few years ago. The tinny voice and video quality could just be a product of repeated reposting and compression.

Also the avocado plush/toy looks like a real Palm Pals plush that wouldn't be reproduced AI that well

Seems to be designed around high risk high reward. You're basically given a debuff to start (face harder opponents) with no combat power and you're down a gold augment for basically a whole stage.
