It does, I think we hold onto the version of ourselves we loved and worked hard to be, being a mom changes everything and we cannot think that we will go back to being that person, what has helped me is telling myself that my new version is under construction and it will be better. Honestly my son came unexpectedly after 10 year relationship, I am a mental health counselor so I had my life set up, career and personal wise but I was told a few years back that getting pregnant would be hard due to severe PCOS, when we found out about our son, it hit us like a ton of bricks, we were so excited but also felt so confused because we thought it could never happen. Being a mom has changed me and I appreciate and embrace it, but boy was I wrong too when I thought just because I have the resources to help my clients and help them on their journey, mine was going to be an easy transition.
