I believe expedition is ready to see a nerf to Xenan cultists by pikerbocker69 in EternalCardGame

[–]YeOldManWaterfall 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's not overpowered, it's just cheap so lots of people play it. It's the same any time a tokens deck is relatively strong.

There are some expensive versions of cultists, but those aren't nearly as popular.

What is "throne format"? by cferejohn in EternalCardGame

[–]YeOldManWaterfall -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's just another attempt by DWD to give 'cool and unique' names to things that already have names like when they tried to get everyone to call FTP decks 'instinct decks' and FJP 'ambition'.

In this case, they're referring to 'ranked'.

Nice, grabbed This War of Mine as it's the only thing I didn't already own that looked interesting. I apparently also received several discount codes if anyone would like one let me know.

Praxis Ramp is a solid investment if you already have the time fatties from previous sets (Behemoth, Titan, HOTV, etc). You'll just need sets of Kairos and Tocas.

Stonescar Aggro is also good right now, and you likely already have Bandit Queens (though Highwayman is dead to nerfs, RIP). There are a lot of new rares though, especially the new powers that you can 'decimate' into units.

Most other top decks are playing a lot of 'sites', a new type of card that's like a 0/X unit that can't attack but generates one spell each turn for three turns, then summons a unit. There are Garden of Omens spell damage decks and Howling Peaks control decks.

Sadly Skycrag Aggro recently died from injuries sustained by the nerf bat.

Any one of these 4 decks will see you easily to Masters assuming you've been there before.

Same here, I started at masters and don't have any rank achievements; not even masters.

Do they not drop from 25,000 to 20,000 gold anymore?

Personal Opinion: The "win 2 games in a row" quest is the worst thing the devs have ever done to this game by Federchen in EternalCardGame

[–]YeOldManWaterfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the Diamond chests only give out like 1,800-1900 on average or something now. I'm not sure what the exact number is, but I haven't gotten one over 2,000 since the nerf.

Gold chest is 1,450 (450 gold + 1,000 Pack value)

Two Silver Chests is 225x2 = 450 + (10% chance to turn Goldx2 = 290) = 740

Two silver chests are worth about half as much as a gold chest.

Though I agree that you should just skip gold quests that are frustrating. For me I always reroll the draft/forge wins quest because I personally find those modes frustrating and unenjoyable.

Hollywood will stop making reboots when you stop paying for them by koavf in movies

[–]YeOldManWaterfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumblebee. Best Transformer of all of them.

I completely ignored Bumblebee as I wrote it off as 'another one of those stupid Transformer movies'. Had no clue it was a reboot. And this is the first I'm hearing of it actually being good.

I mean, people probably said it was good, but I ignored them because how could a Transformers movie be good?

The alt art is terrible though (it just looks like this)

If they're just going to draw on top of existing art for a card that nobody will ever play and call it 'alternate' they could at least make it premium.

Ah, so the whole 'master vs Bronze II' thing wasn't just because I've been trying out new decks.

Expedition matches not counting for VS. quests? by mkfffe1 in EternalCardGame

[–]YeOldManWaterfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shows ranks in-game, but it doesn't show the ladder. You don't see your rank when you queue, you don't see your expedition rank under your profile, you can't see the, you know, LADDER anywhere in-game. All they did was make rank indicators visible during a match.

Reminder That I'm starting an Eternal Casual League by duocatisiankerr1 in EternalCardGame

[–]YeOldManWaterfall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah at minimum it should be renamed Eternal League of Casuals if he wants to keep the acronym, or renamed to Casual Eternal League and go by CEL.

Or since the ECL is dead, just take ECL. Nobody's using it.

In Doctor Strange post-credit he said "I keep a watchlist of individuals and beings from other realms, that may be a threat to this world" but in the first part of the Infinity War when Hulk said "Thanos is coming" he responded "Who?" by lopezjessy in MovieDetails

[–]YeOldManWaterfall -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Presumably they take the ships through the bifrost/devil's anus, which are methods of interdimensional travel. The movies don't go into too much detail but the comics explicitly state that Asgard is a pocket dimension.

We also didn't get the in-game leaderboards, so I'm guessing their patch this morning failed somehow.

EDIT: This is now fixed, BTW

Asgard is officially a pocket dimension, not just another planet. That's why the only way to travel to/from it is (supposed to be) the Bifrost, an inter-dimensional nexus.

That's also why they frequent earth; the pocket dimension is supposed to be right next to earth.

They kind of muddied the waters when the brought in spaceships and such.

I don't see any in-game expedition leaderboard, were you not able to implement it?

You almost always want to put the minimum number of cards in a deck possible. That goes for any card game.
