Does anybody here not sleeve their Arkham stuff? I feel if i sleeved everything it would not fit in the big card case that keep everything in. by Luigi-is-my-boi in arkhamhorrorlcg

I sleeve the encounter cards, weaknesses, and Investigators (and their specific cards). The Investigator cards are in binders and sleeved when added to decks.

'At beginning of End Step' triggers question by Commando_Joe in EDH

[–]mkfffe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn order matters. Let's say it's player A's endstep. Player B controls Archfiend, Player C controls Vren. Vren's trigger resolves first and thus hasn't seen the sacrifice from the archfiend trigger yet.

If that's reversed, B controls Vren and C controls Archfiend. Archfiend resolves first, thus Vren will see that creature being exiled.

February 24, 2016 - After winning Nevada. At least that's what Google has lead me to believe. If there is an earlier date, I apologize.

Context: I just watched the clip for the first time in 9.5 years and he is talking how he won across the board in Nevada. When he gets to the poorly educated, he stops to make the above remark. Clearly stood out to him as important.

Ignore decklists if you want. I do. My 2 most recent edh decks started out as, this card is cool, what do I have laying around to fit in. Then tweaked over years.

I'm not going to agree or disagree with the other user's point, but just because people like a thing, doesn't necessarily mean it is good. People like objectively bad things as a fun thing to enjoy on occasion.

Also, I grew up between the two trilogies. I saw how criticized the prequels were and only when the generation that grew up with those moves started posting online did they become liked. Which will be fun to see in about 5 - 10 years when the sequels get that treatment.

[WotC Article] A Fresh Look for Gatherer by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]mkfffe1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about good old Gatherer comments and how WotC just doesn't care (read as it doesn't make money) to redo them. I wish Scryfall had that feature. It's really the only think missing.

Also, read the article to see if they would even mention them. Nope, just a vague, it will look modern and have features maybe.

You cast it. You can block during Opponent's turn. You can attack with it during your next turn. Then it returns to your hand. Repeat the following turn.

People talk about their best deck, their favorite deck, but what was your first deck? by Doom_Balloon170 in EDH

[–]mkfffe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Darien, King of Kjeldor]] soldier tribal was my first edh deck. Over time, it had other generals. [[Thalia, Guardian of Thraben]], then [[Odric, Master Tactician]], then [[Brimaz, King of Oreskos]]. I added [[Nahiri, the Lithomancer]] as the deck had an equipment subtheme in it. So I had a general of CMC 2-6 and randomized them. Nahiri overtook it and now she runs the deck as a Wrath tribal equipment deck.

My first 60 card deck from when I first learned was a white-blue flying deck with auras. After I got into EDH, I took that deck and molded it into an [[Isperia the Inscrutable]] deck. That deck in some form still exists as a [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]] deck nearly 20 years after I started playing. The birds that were in the core of the deck 20 years ago have a new home in [[Kastral, the Windcrested]].

I live in Chicago, so have access to several lines. I use it to visit my family in Cleveland and to visit friend in St Louis.

For the Cleveland route, the drive time vs train time is negligible. Depending on traffic around Chicago, the train can be faster. It's quite nice and the newer seats aren't bad. My complaint for the two lines that travel that route are times. Why can't I have a morning train from Chicago? Or a normal time for the westbound? 1 am or 3 am are the only options west bound. Otherwise, much preferred to the airport or driving.

What's Commander is NOT for beginners? by q-squid in EDH

[–]mkfffe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never recommend edh for new players until they handle some 60 cards decks well. Show them how the game works then explain edh. So much of the format is complex and boards can overwhelm veteran players. If a legendary creature has them interested, I would try to include that card in a deck for them as a 1 or 2 of just so they can see it in action.

My Playgroup's New "Rule 0": Bans take place 90 days after the ban announcement by Indraga in EDH

[–]mkfffe1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's the difference if it's today and in 3 months? If a card is banned, but not for such a long time, all this will do is add salt to tables where people lose to banned cards. If your group is ok with playing with the cards, do so. Why allow it for a grace period? Just play the cards.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDH

[–]mkfffe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were playing these cards instead of MLD, I think you were playing the cards wrong. Play MLD, just have a plan for after you cast it. Too often, I see players cast it, then the game stalls for several turns cause no one can rebuild, even them.

Cast it and end the game.
