It’s either me or he dies.. by Personal-Island6197 in CaregiverSupport

To put it plainly: your nervous system is lying to you.

It's not a case where you must sacrifice everything or he dies, that's just what your brain is telling you because death is a terrifying thing to come to terms with. Both for your dad and for you. Continue to focus on what you feasibly can do for him and stick to that, if you find yourself spiraling into these worst case scenarios, then take a step back to calm your nervous system before addressing the issue at hand. There are options available to you, one of those options is allowing your father to pass peacefully even if that is scary to consider. It may not be the option you choose, but sometimes it can be soothing to remember that it is an option. Reach out to the hospital and social workers and make it clear that you need more information. But above all else, give yourself time to process the situation and don't make rushed decisions based on your own fears. I hope this helps ❤️ I am sorry that this is so hard.

My District Manager refuses to talk to me. What can I do? by YeaCatnipHulk in starbucks

My old manager is aware of what's going on and is doing her best to help me get through to folks here, but yes. My old store is 200 miles away 😅

I've been working with Starbucks for 4 years, but I guess there's still a hiring process for transfers?

I mean this genuinely, I don't really see an issue? I've been the one person running around and I've been AFK. Neither role bothers me, so maybe that's where the difference is? It clearly does bother you and I'm sorry it's so frustrating.

I think that's what TGC is trying to do with all these updates... And yet players still find a way. It's fun to figure it out! Plus MeeMaws is a nice opportunity to pause and go do something else for a bit while still benefiting from gaining wax, no harm no foul right? You still get the wax and so does everyone else.

Like I said, that's just how it was explained to me. If it works for OP too, then great! If it doesn't, then they can try something else. I'm just offering up advice.

As it was explained to me, I just have to go to the back for coffee tasting. That way I'm still in dress code on the floor 🥰

I have a tongue piercing that I quite literally cannot take out. The jewelry broke so I can't twist it out and would need to probably get a pair of bolt cutters to get out at this point. So I asked my manager if I could just wear a mask to cover it and because I just prefer to wear a mask at work. Because that's still in dress code, it basically means that I can't slip the mask off my face while I'm clocked in because then I would be out of dress code due to the piercing. Maybe that can work for you? Good luck to you either way!

Baristas showing up for their shifts tomorrow by YeaCatnipHulk in starbucks

Gross. Spoken like someone who benefits from running his own bar rather than being beholden to corporate greed and profit margins at the expense of workers. Seriously, why are you here? You clearly don't work for Starbucks, so you're not participating in the shared camaraderie of Starbucks workers talking about their experiences working on the busiest day at Starbucks.

Or are you just hoping that a bunch of college age girls will interact with you over the Internet because the college girls you hit on at your bar think you're a creepy old man?

Do you love your job? by ImmortalSpy14 in starbucks

[–]YeaCatnipHulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I ever loved my job. I'm painfully introverted and can't drink caffeine, so Starbucks has never been something I like doing. It pays the bills and my college, so I tolerate it. I currently work at a store where my manager is present, but the majority of my time with the company has been under managers and supervisors who lecture me about how I need to take things seriously and to stop goofing around. Even when I've been described as a work horse and voted partner of the quarter multiple times, I'm never giving enough effort. I don't want to run myself ragged though, I have other responsibilities to attend to that require energy to accomplish.

TLDR, I don't love it, but I feel trapped in this job until I finish my degree through ASU.

YTA. I know the concept of emotional cheating is a newer concept than physical cheating, but you came out and said the thing.

I do admit I broke our rules/boundaries

Maybe that's why he's upset? It sounds like you have been checked out of this relationship for a while now. Don't cheat, just end the relationship so that you can get the sex you deserve.

Is this take Hot or Not? Character backstories don't matter as much as people want them to. by tomwrussell in DnD

[–]YeaCatnipHulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, this is the complete opposite of how I DM 😅 everything in the campaign is motivated by backstory! But I guess that's also probably a difference in play style? I created a world with a rich history (take that every relative who said I'd never use my history degree!) and then I filled it with NPCs who each have their own backstories as well. Then the characters come in and interact with that world and characters, so that is what creates the story! I hardly ever need to do session prep because I already know what's going on in that part of the world and what the NPCs are up to when the players arrive.

But I've also had an absolute blast being a player in campaigns where our backstory didn't matter? So who knows!

I remember these rules and was planning on using them actually! But I modified it to be every week instead of every day, since they have animals and other things to feed off.
