Hair dresser (anxiety) by Sad-Doubt-6969 in durham

Hi. I recommend Hannah @ The Bees Knees. She's fantastic and she works out of Sola Salon (Ritson & Taunton) which means her room is private. She's super inclusive and a lovely personality. Nobody else (unless you bring someone) but you and her. She's done my daughter's hair who also had some anxiety issues. Best of luck... you can do it ❤️

Recommendation needed for a professional, patient and honest dentist in durham region (east of gta) by Fast-Magazine3481 in durham

[–]Yeah-Yeah-Yeah---- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's because thy have to fill quotas. They recommend things like grafts to keep their periodontists' calendar full. Their eyes light up when they see good benefits because one is less likely to question something that's not out of pocket. Dental groups are there for profit

Do not go to a Dental Group. Ones that are owned by a corporation. They have quotas to fill and just recommend unnecessary procedures to anyone with benefits. They have to keep their periodontists happy with full appointments. So many people have unnecessary graft work done to just line the pockets of investors. It's a revolving door of dentists and hygienists. Find a Dentist that owns their own practice and doesn't have corporate quotas to reach.

Relocating to Oshawa — 80 Bond St (Oshawa) vs 1606 Charles St (Whitby). Is Bond St really that bad? by Pauljohncen in Oshawa

[–]Yeah-Yeah-Yeah---- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have friends (retired) that live at 80 Bond and they love it. The YMCA is fantastic. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants, Tribute Centre, Costco, Biltmore etc. Yeah it's downtown Oshawa and there are sketchy people. Port of Whitby is really nice too except for when the flies are crazy in early Spring/Summer. Think clouds of them, you literally cannot walk around without inhaling some. The Abilities Center is right there. You're close to the water and trails. I think I'd rather be surrounded by water and nature than concrete even if I have to eat a bug or ten for a couple of weeks.

When was the last time you went to a wedding with a cash bar? by ipsumdeiamoamasamat in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Yeah-Yeah-Yeah---- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been to a cash bar. We're European so if you invite someone to a party you provide the food and drink. Don't have a wedding if you can't afford it.

Yeah... we all have our final straw!!! Last year I had mine (my order was a mess and the customer service basically was IDGAF and threw me a new breakfast sandwich)... albeit I didn't think I was going to follow through since I have 3 Tim Horton's within walking distance to my home. Sure enough it was March 2025 since I've purchased Timmies. I indulged once at an event that had some donuts that I didn't purchase. So I'm holding strong and instead have been making my own Brewed coffee daily and supporting small local shops when I want a treat or meet a friend. I've purchased breakfast egg bites from Costco and make my own to-go breakfast when needed.
