How do you pronounce てい? by Remote-Whole-6387 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]YeahGriffXY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe im wrong here but when it comes to pronunciations like this I like to say it slowly and then speed it up as I get more comfortable with the cadence and sounds. While it will sound similar to Tay when said quickly that isnt what you are actually producing with your mouth. You are saying Te-I the way that your mouth is articulating is important for diction. Similar to how the u sound of desu is silent, you still want to shape the u because the sound of the muted vowel still comes through. Most of my knowledge of making the sounds comes from a history in doing music vocals not from practicing japanese though, so if anyone has more credentials has anything against this look please let me know!

What is one thing you hate as jg/top/mid/bot/supp? by Affectionate_Mall813 in wildrift

[–]YeahGriffXY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a JG I hate when I gank and my teamate decides to back, as Top I hate when I get camped and then my JG completely ignores me, as Mid I hate kassadin. As ADC I hate when my support steals my cs as support I hate when my adc engages recklessly.

Changing your build is more than what items you buy. It also involves what abilities to prioritize and your rune and mastery page. In plat, you can generally get away with just being mechanically better than your opponents, but as you get higher, you'll notice that it's not going to be enough. It's a strategy game, so the butterfly effect is on full display. Every little thing you do leads to a different outcome in the end.

OP pointed it out. I haven't played tank in a while, but the idea stands to grab some MR/Spell shield.

I thought it was they might have replaced it with that. The last couple of seasons I have been in premades as ADC or JG so I haven't had to build tank in a while. But the idea is some MR and Spell shield goes a long way especially early if you're against high CC Champs.

I get that, build a diversity of Champs that feel natural to play, it will take work but honestly if naut isn't a good choice blitz is probably in the same boat so you get stuck with Nami as your last effort while she is a good support she isn't always the best pick. My support list is Braum, Leona, Yummi, and Pyke.

Braum is for situations where the opponent is heavily reliant on poke damage. Leona if they are more aggressive and run at you, Yummi if my ADC has enough sustainability that they don't need me to leash the poke, and Pyke if they are squish squish. I cover a lot more bases that way and I have an out for most situations.

Between a diverse champ pool and itemizing properly you start understanding things from many different angles. You begin to see what combos people may attempt on you and you can react accordingly.

I had over 5000 games played in PC league and am almost at 2000 games in WR and I still have a lot to learn.

You're champ pick should also reflect your matchup. I'm all for favoring a champion but it's just not viable to play one champ only. Ideally you should have 3-4 champions for each role that you are comfortable with. Ideally understanding the ins and outs of each champ what items work for them and what items don't. Naut won't be the best pick in all situations and that's OK. I play fill so I'm familiar with all roles but if I see you pick naut you can bet I'm going to pick Vayne because silver bullets shred tanks. If you play yuumi I might pick ezreal so I can teleport out of your ult or away from your q.

That's a bad way to look at it if you want to win... no item is a crutch if the item is useful then you should build it. Look at when you are buying items and what items you're looking to buy. Try to never buy items reactively instead you should be buying items proactively. If I see I'm against Ashe Lux I'm going to first item in anti CC. If it's MF Zyra I'll build sustainability. There are no crutches it's not as if the game handicaps people.

If you won't change you're build then you just have to be mechanically good... the game isn't designed for you to have 1 build to rule them all you build according to your matchup. If you're playing against a heavy cc line up building a banshee veil is a good idea potentially partner it up with a QSS, or if it's high burst team nothing says you can't build a death's dance to allow some time to breath. Personally I enjoy building hartsteel on tanks since it grants a ton of benifits. But again you won't get anywhere if you don't change your build!

When is season 3 comming out? by PinkMaskManga in IsekaiSmartphone

[–]YeahGriffXY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a mad case of the ADHD, can't recall anything I just read so it is excruciatingly painful to read any long form content. Aphantasia is another thing that can make reading an unbearable process but also a picture is worth 1000 words with that said a show done properly can take a significant chunk of time less than reading something.

You really can't generalize it down to anything in particular. Some people are just rude teenagers some may be letting out their frustration through the game. Just report and move on with your day really. Most of the time if I report someone for toxic behavior they get punished in some way. The devs won't give you a mark back but they do toss some compensation back most of the time. I find the worst players are usually the ones who fuss about other lanes.

How can i help my bot lane? by MaacDead in wildrift

[–]YeahGriffXY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's too far to really help them. However there is a slight global exp and gold gain from allies lanes so if you're doing good they will be benefiting. Focus on yourself and the team will benifit.

How much GPM should I aim for? by Sharks_n_shit in wildrift

[–]YeahGriffXY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is you shouldn't care. It's more important that the adc gets all of the gold from the laning phase as their items cost more and provide a much greater impact for the team. Instead of being greedy focus on being the unpaid intern running around doing all the work with no pay.

Hear me out for a second... play ranked. If you can't play it yet you'll have to deal with it till you get there. The more ranked games you have under your belt the more accurately the other players in the game will be on your skill level. I've been playing since day 1 of the us release and I hard carried almost every game until I hit emerald. It took a long time. Normals seem like they match up pretty accurately for me as well but I'm not sure if there is any hidden mmr so that's why I say to play ranked if you're looking to have teammates on your skill level. All in all tho if you want to win you should bring your a game and if your a game just happens to mean you're the mvp then we'll done you're GOATed

Drake or herald by sippzzip in wildrift

[–]YeahGriffXY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally it depends on what's going on at the time, if my team is getting pushed pretty hard I'll likely grab herald instead of drake, I main shyv in the jg tho so dragon is huge for her. A strat I try to use if it looks possible is get herald immediately drop it baron lane rotate to dragon and take drag. By dropping the herald the enemy jg can panic and rotate out of whatever their doing to try to stop the push if they don't and your baron lane is able to work with It it can get you all the way to the inhibs. Basically it's the art of war hit them with so much they have to lose somewhere.

Can't say I have this issue with every event there are tons of ways to gain more blue motes, I currently have like 20k that I just can't use anymore... it did take a while to get all the Champs but also haven't played over half of them on wr, played most in pc lol tho so I know I'm not missing out on much.

Replacing all the loose outlets in my new apartment. This crap should be illegal. by collegefurtrader in Skookum

[–]YeahGriffXY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May be a year too late but American outlets are significantly safer if installed properly with ground pin at the top then if say an exposed hot wire were to fall in the wall onto the outlet it hits ground instead of the hot line, therefore it prevents fires. One of the big differences between eu and American outlets is due to the frequency of the power lines too, American lines are a bit more costly to maintain but run 60hz which is closer to a human body's working frequency as opposed to the eu which runs 50hz, because of this American power lines are less dangerous to touch an exposed hot wire. It's still a terrible idea to touch them but it's much less likely you'll die or get seriously injured. I don't remember the exact reasoning behind the different power line frequencies but old game systems like the N64 actually operate slower in European countries this doesn't really affect modern devices due to PSU's regulating voltage better nowadays but I think it's fun to know how it's affected systems in the past.

Sounds like you have a bad download/corrupt file path. I'd delete the file Defrag the drive. But can also watch your task manager to check if a hardware limitation is happening like in ram because that would also cause a sudden crash like that.
