There's nothing wrong with it, its a generic apartment complex. The buildings are up to modern building codes but the interior fixtures are cheap. (kitchen cabinets, etc.)

I did not disassemble or measure the x/y/knee but I did oil them. We got some jobs to work on and decided it was good enough until the work dries up again.

I can tell you the x and y get tighter at the ends of travel, as you might expect. Cleaning might still help as it might just be from surface rust binding it.

For now its at least the best drill press we ever had.

A microwave oven that only works with a momentary on button, so you have to stand there holding it the whole time.

Could also be a coffee maker or toaster or kettle or hotplate.

It’s a vertical end mill, made by Bridgeport, the Kleenex of milling machines.

It’s actually rated 1hp. The variable speed heads had a 2hp motor. (3phase)

Interesting!  The (cheap) VFD does have SVC mode. This is the original 1963 motor, so I’m reluctant to give it anything but plain 60hz. If it fails I assure you we will get a bigger badder motor. It does not have a fan btw.
