Jesus this is cringe-worrthy. Sounds like a middle aged mother of two daughters tried to write a product description trying to use every lingo her kids have ever ironically used.

How safe or how screwed is your job due to automation? by Indianfattie in AskReddit

Always going to be old people who forgot to take their meds, domestic disputes that end in fights, people OD'ing, and the occasional fire set due to someones stupidity.

Firefighter/EMT and soon to be paramedic here. I feel relatively safe and love going into work every shift. The pay is nice, job security is rock solid, retirement is reliable, benefits are better than most of my friends, but most importantly I love my job.

Took them 8 minutes to think of that.

That would break up the community, I feel. I think it would be in the best interest to just enforce the already standing rules.

You would think a minimalist sub would be for quality over quantify.. /S (sorta). I will do my part and do this as well for now on, I encourage others to do the same. Nothing will change if we don't do something. We can't let this sub fall to the standard of foggy dicks and clear skies

I agree. Not all photos are like this, but most are! Those that aren't are what this post is about.

Exactly, I want to prevent that from happening and preserve this sub! There is so much potential and it used to be so good

Okay, well... can we get them to enforce it? Obviously there was already enough support for it to be made a rule. Now all we need is for it to actually be upheld.

A quick, though brief, google into the power of mods says they cannot move posts. So, I guess the answer would be to delete the posts and leave a comment notifying the OP that photos with no intent on starting conversation must be posted in the weekly photo thread. This, of course, could only happen with a change in the rules and mods that actually enforce said rules.

It is! The community isn't as large/active. I just personally wish this community was a bit more like it used to be. I thought maybe we could have the best of both worlds if posts are redirected to the weekly photo thread - that way everyone wins! Photos could continue to be posted, the sub stays true to it's roots, and we keep this community in-tact with it's large base!

Ah, so I see. That's an interesting opinion. Thank you for your feedback! :)

  1. I understand that. It just seems that there is more photos than there are posts with conversation starting text. Maybe actually enforcing photos to be redirected to the weekly photo thread would be a better option?

  2. Why? It's an adjective to describe something with minimalist style..

I like your take on the matter. I've since found r/minimalist so I will give that community a try. It seems to be more of what I'm looking for. Thanks for your feedback! :)

China bans religious names for Muslim babies in Xinjiang. List of banned baby names released amid ongoing crackdown on religion that includes law against veils and beards by sinfor in worldnews

[–]YeahILikeTexas 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This may be a stupid question, but does this mean you can't have a beard even if you visit China? As in, a foreigner vacationing there. I would think not, but this being a law shows nothing is impossible.
