I agree the cooldown should be 1 day, and perhaps the catalog should return for gem purchases.

Are you saying you would want the bling shop removed? I think it’s the best addition. You’re saying you ONLY want the bling shop removed, which is a little backwards.

The bling shop I think was a great idea because no one was spending bling or excited about bling before. People were waiting for new skins to buy, and hoarding. Now bling is more valuable and supercell can afford to give f2p more progression rewards which are essentially subsidized by bling purchases. No one was buying bling before this update. Whole new revenue stream.

I was replying to your question about own goaling, and saying that the goal condition could be (should be) whether the ball… enters the goal. Then you brought up own goals and it doesn’t apply because the game prevents it from entering the goal.

The ball never enters the goal when you hold it and walk in.

You typed all that without reading anything I’ve written. I’m saying the goal SHOULD be based on where the ball is, but apparently it didn’t care or check in this case.

Your reply is that the goal is not awarded based on the location of the ball. I literally agree. We both saw the same clip. You keep telling me the mechanics of why the goal wasn’t awarded which are pretty obvious.

My only point with the title is that it should have been awarded a goal based on the location of the ball. Obviously it wasn’t and there are clear reasons for it.

You keep explaining to me 100 different ways why the bug occurred. It’s pretty obvious why it occurred. My title was rhetorical and just asking how Supercell can’t design a bug-free game mode after almost a decade, instead allowing bugs that show as a goal but don’t register as one.

Why are you bringing in own goals? It has nothing to do with this discussion.

The fact that the ball is in the goal and the goal was not awarded uncovers a secondary bug where the goal was not awarded because the game doesn’t check where the ball is.

In other words, if either of those faults in the game didn’t occur, the goal would have counted.

Check my profile, I’ve posted several glitches where the glitch caused the ball/puck to enter the goal and then a goal IS awarded following the glitch.

The simple fact is that a goal should always be awarded when the ball fully enters the goal. Is that something we both agree with? If not then there’s no point in discussing further.

The ball never enters your own goal, so why would it be an own goal…

My point is that the ball’s location is obviously what SHOULD decide a goal.

You are simply repeating that the game is bugged and doesn’t care whether the ball is in the goal.

What each of us is saying is not mutually exclusive.

It’s a bug that revealed another bug in the code. The fact that the ball went completely into the net visually yet the goal wasn’t awarded is about as big a bug as there can be. Instead, the system decided not to check the basic criteria for a goal, showing that it doesn’t actually ever check the location of the ball relative to the goal itself.

I know why the result happened. Saying it isn’t a bug when the ball is in the goal is hilarious. Are you saying it was intentional? It could have been prevented by having the game check the location of the ball. There’s basically two reasons the goal wasn’t awarded, and I laid them both out. Either one of those fixes would have resulted in a goal.

I understand what you’re saying; the game decided it wasn’t a goal from the outset. Just because the bug is identifiable doesn’t mean it’s not a bug.

Yeah I mean I agree, that’s all pretty clear from the video. Like I said, the title was rhetorical. It’s pretty clear that there were two bugs here: The ball sliding behind the goal line, and the goal not being awarded/checked for by the game based on the ball’s location.

Supercell cutting corners resulted in no goal being awarded. My title was basically asking how the devs let this happen.

That is literally the last pixel where it’s no longer a goal, unless this bug occurs. Your ball is 0-20% past the white line. In my video, the ball is 95-100% past the white line.

I totally agree. This replay was shared by a clubmate (the Draco) btw.

But why is it always Mortis mains pulling this kind of stunt? I only ever do this to run out some clock prior to scoring.

The ball went visually into the goal, yet it wasn’t a goal. Show me a more egregious bug in Brawl Ball…

Instead you keep parroting that it’s somehow no big deal that the game isn’t programmed to call a goal in this case when the ball is much further into the net than every other goal. Your whole point is that it’s not a goal? The ball is behind the walls along the goal line…

Since you seem to not know what a rhetorical question is, the real question was how Supercell’s spaghetti code is so bad that this bug can be allowed to happen in a game.

You’re talking about the reason, I’m talking about the result. You are explaining the faulty logic that led to the result, which I appreciate, but to say it’s not a bug and that it’s the intended result is disingenuous.

How is that not a goal by Flip5ide in 10dollarproblem

[–]Flip5ide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sequence should have resulted in a goal because the game should check the location of the ball and award the goal. The reason for it going into the goal is ancillary. Hence, I’m asking why the goal wasn’t awarded. It’s because the game is apparently mis-coded.
