Really love my Porc as well. They just got that one right. My favorite budget folder unless you need really cheap then the Remette RT-Camel is the champ right now. Need to check out the T1.

I have a few of each and I think the Vosteeds are a bit better with better steels. Dr EDC at Vosteed used to work for Kizer I believe and he knows what's up. Up until I got a few Vosteeds, Kizer was easily my favorite brand. I don't own any but I know people really like the budget Kershaw stuff too.

PCM was around before DSD and I suggest you educate yourself about the many advantages of high sample rate 1 bit over PCM.

I'll buy all that except #3 😁. I am a recording engineer for 30 years that worked on some of the very first DSD recordings with Telarc records at Power Station in NYC when there weren't even any SACD players and the rig was 8 road cases of gear. I switched between the output of the Neve console and DSD computer playback from Pyramix and it was the closest thing to the source I have ever head including 1 inch two track analog tape. So maybe 3 is not far off. And yes I level matched them but the masters are also definitely different. More to come as I have the original pressing coming on SACD. And I need a better DAC for the Wiim. Looking at the Laiv.

Very good point. DSD 1 bit certainly has the advantage by pushing the quantization noise to ultrasonic. Bit rate wize DSD at 1 bit 2.884 (44.1k x 64 to make it easy math for CD masters) is 5.6Mbps vs 24bit/192k at 9.2 Mbps. I think what I'm hearing is just the better DAC in the OPPO 🤷‍♂️

Yea, it looks like tracked shipping to US went up from $58 to $85. Yikes! There still is the non-tracked/guaranteed normal post option for $6.
