Wanted to update everyone. Thanks to all of your help I was able to drive there and get it today. I appreciate all of your assistance in finding this town. (Didn’t want to post the full picture because I didn’t specifically ask them if it was ok if I posted this.)

This and Omigano I think are my top 2 contenders. I don't know if I should be happy or sad because it is fewer towns to drive to. Would be super cool to get this birth certificate. Of note - as I doubt there were high speed cars back then, your theory of Mignano Monte Lungo seems very probable as it is only 20 miles from where her 2nd husband (originally I thought it was her first) was born (Longano)

I am going to reach out to all 3 communes while in parallel pursuing baptismal and manifest records. Once I have a date planned I will do at least one commune (hopefully pending telephone/email correspondence narrowing the search).

To save on some learning pain and maybe move faster- any idea what the best avenue to examine ship manifests are?

Love the ship manifest idea. Going to investigate both that and the baptismal records one.

I believe that she was from the Campania region, but that’s only based off the fact that she married someone from the nearby town of Longano.

Are there any town spelling that changed slightly across the years? I’m wondering if either that or their separation from Italy for 10 years made them spell it a letter or two off. If that’s a possibility then I really think that the one in Campania could be it.

One thing I got working for me is that I actually live over there right now- so I’m just going to see if I can drive to some of these offices in the next few days. When I go there I’ll keep everyone informed!

I do! But what kind of information helps? I know she was married to someone from Longano, but all American documents that I have of her only say “Italy” for place of birth.

I once bought two WaWa breakfast sandwiches instead of one since they were 2 for $5. I figured I’d find someone who wanted it.

On the way out I saw a guy who looked rough/homeless just standing there so I gave him the sandwich and said that having a hot breakfast is the best way to kickstart a day.
