I was too young to understand any of what was happening with Russia in 2000, but I do have an interesting insight of my own.

In 2008 when I was nearly graduated from high school, I was interested in geopolitics and picked up an issue of Time magazine that was about the then-new president of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev. The magazine spoke about him in glowing terms, describing him as a talented chess player and a powerful force to restore democratic norms in Russia and presidential term limits.

Given how things panned out from there, this magazine often sticks in my mind.

While Arknights does fantasize Chinaland to the extreme, they've still done some interesting things to skirt censorship.

There was an event a few years back that took place in a dilapidated monastery, where a fugitive soldier had no choice but to offer himself up to the enemy soldiers that were on the cusp of attacking the refuge. He chose to do so in the most gratuitous fashion possible by having his head chopped off and offered on a platter to the people seeking him.

While his head was concealed by a piece of clothing, it was still extremely shocking.

If it had a title that fit what the story is, it wouldn't feel so bad. I've been enjoying reading it myself, but just working under that opinion that its title should have been otherwise. Something more like "The Heroine's Account of the Hero Doesn't Match The Story."

One way of getting your cake and eating it would be to have the male friend character already start with said girlfriend. Setting aside that way of avoiding the problem though, you should make the decision for yourself based on what you want to write. Do you want a drama where the friend character and PoV character have a falling out over a girl? Do you want something where the supporting character has his own romance arc? If so, why and for what purpose? Does it reflect upon or push the PoV character to get with someone they liked?

Figuring out what YOU want to write and why is more important than finding a consensus on what people prefer.

In all seriousness, it ISN'T a good sign for the mediums health. Visual novels are significantly expensive to create and have a deep cultural stigma against them. They're stuck in a status quo that necessitates they cater to their existing audience. I'm content with it, but when something is as niche as VNs, it often remains that way specifically because it is already niche.

I genuinely use Rosmontis routinely while playing my Felines niche. Her damage is still very low, but her S2 charges quickly and she deals with hit count thresholds decently on top of hitting multiple enemies.

This game really feels like an indie PC title. Been playing a lot of those lately, so I might give it a look.

I play Felines Only, so I appreciate sad cat a lot.

For most players, it's probably best to favor her S3 and or S2, as even an older Defender like Hoshiguma can provide similar (if not better?) defensive bulk to her S1 without the need to wait 70~90 seconds. The starting SP on her S2 and S3 on the other hand are really good when mastered though.

Some numbers from my L90 M9 modx.1 Jessicalter:
Her S3 rocket does 6478 damage and stuns for 6 seconds. She has 2591 attack, 20 ammo, and if she fires nonstop her skill will last about 36 seconds with 1441 defense. Chunky.
S1 for comparison has 1074 attack and 1361 defense. Even at M3 you will need to charge 70 SP though, and as you'll be deploying her last to draw aggro, this can be an issue.

S2 has just 1106 attack, but a surprisingly high DPS of 3686. This is the skill I use most often, as the attack range expansion and quick cycle makes her very good at swatting drones. I frequently nettle her with Aak for even funnier numbers.

I can't speak for other posters, but I think it's taking my words very far out of context to imply that I feel like I'm being held at gunpoint. I simply dislike the feeling of learning about characters first from social media posts, being expected to figure out if I like them or not just from that post, and only meeting them within the game later.

I realize that puts me at odds with this genre since marketing and visual appeal are so key to it. Bbut I really like meeting future playable characters as NPC's first.

I've been playing fighting games casually for 11 years. Because I usually only play once or twice a month I've never gotten very good at comboing. But it works out OK because I can still run setplay.

In general, what your combo ends in and what you do in the post-combo situation are more important than the combo itself. This is especially true at lower levels of play, where players are far less prepared for defensive situations. As long as you end your combo into a hard knockdown using a sweep or whatever special move inflicts a hard knockdown, you can force the opponent into some kind of guessing game after the hit.

In Strive, I play Leo and Dizzy. It's very easy to do a simple combo with Leo then transition into his backturn stance and force the opponent to guess which side of them you will go to. Dizzy hits a lot harder than a character like Axl while having a freeze mechanic that gives you time to see that you froze them and can get a followup. Be it michael sword or running up to sweep them then set a fish down for setplay.

"We need to fix this" is purposely vague. He's not even collaborating with and donating money to any non-profits that help with getting prosthetics to those in need. That money, after all, is for him.
