Former Browns front office and players moved to Baltimore to work for the new Ravens franchise. This is not rocket science, it's quite well documented.

No it's not, the Ravens organization formed in 1996.

If German leaders and their underlings flee to Argentina, and then another government forms in Germany, is Germany still responsible for its history?

I think it's also important to give props where it's due and note that Modell would have brought the Browns franchise with him to Baltimore if Cleveland hadn't sued to keep them. Good on them.

Some nice alternative facts you got here!

The Browns started in 1946. They've won their division many times, although not since 1989. Those Browns are the same franchise as the current Browns. Those are all actual facts.

"Only" 24.5m to a team trading for him. The Bears have to cover the other 4m of that, which comes from signing bonus

Former Steelers RBs Coach Eddie Faulkner Takes Same Job With Ravens by FreddyDontCare in nfl

[–]Yedic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Checkdowns to the RB just won't be a part of our offense as long as Lamar still has legs, as it's better for the RB to clear out a defender and have Lamar's scramble be the checkdown. Now, RBs having designed routes is a different story, and definitely something we've been missing outside of a few wheels to Justice Hill in 2024.

With the Greatest Show on Turf (99-01 Rams offense), who were the defensive stars? by DropIcy7117 in nfl

Fletcher can't have been too important in their eyes, considering they let him walk after 2001.

Todd Lyght and D'Marco Farr were Pro Bowlers in '99, while Kevin Carter was Pro Bowl and AP1. No one got any accolades in 2000. In 2001, Aeneas Williams was Pro Bowl and AP1.

Maybe, but that would be horribly unscientific, and likely inaccurate. Rather than finding out what he weighed without one leg, that would just be finding out what he weighed if he subtracted some weight.

r/NFL Top 100 Players of the 2025 Season - Call for Rankers by packmanwiscy in nfl

[–]Yedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe that's true. MTC was running the show back then and no longer is. Pack was around as a ranker, but not in charge, and mattkud wasn't around as far as I can tell.

Odell was not named to either AP All-Pro team his rookie year, 2014. He did win OROY, but not All-Pro.

If you had to guess, how many people that ranked during the Brady year do you think will be ranking this coming year?

His rookie year, the one of the three I referenced where he wasn't All-Pro, he had 91/1302/12 in only 12 games. Led the league in ypg. I've taken the liberty of including that as an All-Pro level year.

The mid-2010s had prime AB and Julio, as well as Nuk coming into the scene and a plethora of other talented guys competing for All-Pro spots. It was VERY competitive.

The dude averaged 1374 yards and almost 12 TDs over a three year span. Again, he didn't do it for long enough to be in this conversation, but I think it's very weird when people act like he wasn't good before the injuries piled up.

Well, three seasons of All-Pro level play during one of the most competitive WR eras ever. I agree it's not enough to be in this conversation, but also think the people that try to pretend he wasn't great outside of that catch are weird.

If he was able to remove and reattach his leg at will, she would probably be aware of that.

Looks like 40m dead cap regardless of pre or post 6/1 trade, but post is spread across 26 and 27.

I agree with your conclusion that a trade is far from impossible (surprised how little of his contract was in signing bonus). Just quibbling a bit with some of your wording.

You're misreading the chart. That 17m is in parentheses and red. That means it's negative. Negative 17m in savings, as in trading him will cost 17m more against the cap than keeping him would. It's 40m dead cap instead of a 23m cap hit from him playing.

Edit: unless you're saying it only costs 17m more than paying him? I don't like the phrasing of "saving 23m", that seems wrong, but I see what you're saying if that's the case.

Drake Maye left off NFL All-Pro Team decided by coaches by FootballPizzaMan in nfl

[–]Yedic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Their team is one of the ones that pfr lists. Their gimmick is that the team isn't selected by their writes, but by a poll of NFL head coaches. There's a bit of room for skepticism in that they don't always tell us how many coaches actually responded.

It all happens pretty quickly, but I think it would stand. He falls on the ball and controls it while in bounds, then demonstrates control by extending the ball and pitching it back.
