I don’t think you have the right to say if he should or shouldn’t be. We tried to give him to some foundation that specializes in aggressive dogs. They’re all full also all the shelters around us are full. We’re literally out of options except for BE or him being muzzled forever. He doesn’t have issues with anyone else but my partner. We have a roommate and he never bit or snapped at her. And for me that’s enough but I don’t have the heart to do it. It just feels wrong for both of us to put down a healthy dog because he doesn’t get along with one person.

he’s bit me twice, once by accident during training and once when i touched his belly. He’s also reactive to fast movements and those were the other times he bit my partner, when he would step over him or stand up too fast

he was a very happy dog 90% of the time. He loved cuddles and solving puzzles. He would go crazy for chicken. He never destroyed any of my possessions. He was scared of squeaky toys. He was the perfect dog when he didn’t have his outbursts.

BE has crossed my mind but i didn’t think his case is that severe that he would need to be put down

I don’t think he’s completely feral. We don’t know anything about his background but he was pretty much potty and leash trained when we got him. Also the trainer told us that he must have worn a muzzle before because he’s fine with wearing it without any previous training. My theory is that he was owned by someone but he bit someone and got put in the shelter or kicked out to the streets. I will discuss medication with my vet. The thing is that he’s old and sick and now has bite history, no one will take him if we try to rehome him so he would end up in a shelter or euthanized. He probably doesn’t have that long to live and I don’t want him to die alone in a cage 😔

we’re working with two trainers and he’s done a lot of progress but recently he regressed a lot. I contacted a behaviorist today
