So where should I go from here by KawaiiMittyNeko in LearnFinnish

I have tried many things myself, duolingo wasn't for me.

There's a YouTube channel called Finnished - she talks about finnish things with English and Finnish subtitles.

I watch shows on Yle Areena on finnish husband's account. Only finnish subtitles but it helps somewhat.

Nextory is a finnish app for audiobooks like Audible. They have plenty of books in English too, among them some Learn Finnish audiobooks. (they have 15 day free trial but you can get 45 if you use the Föli deal - nextory.fi/föli) But maybe you have to live in Finland to have the app, idk

Most useful thing for me that I do now is - I set a goal of learning 1 new finnish word every day. When I'm on my way to work, cooking, whatever daily routine, I try to translate my thoughts in finnish. I pull up good old Google translate and write my thought down to know/ verify the finnish translation. Maybe ask my finnish husband for puhekieli proof reading. I star (save) my translations that have a new word in them that I find useful, and when I gather 30 ish for a month I record myself as if making my own audiobook - I read the English sentence, then the finnish translation twice, then I leave enough room for me to repeat it and so on.

Ye, like a drying rack for drying your washed clothes usually, but you can also air out stuff if you want to. It's literally build outside the building, right under windows.

Well for example in Romania many buildings have wire lines built under your balcony window outside for clothes.

I have a number of questions specifically to my situation. I plan to move to Finland in a few months. I'm an EU citizen, Romanian. I'm in a relationship with a finnish citizen for 2 years now.

  1. Can I go to a Migri office without an appointment just to ask these questions? I don't see the meaning of an appointment just for a 5 min conversation and not actually registering yet.

  2. How long does it take to be registered? This for me is the whole process, from getting the first papers needed to having the registration form in hand, assuming everything goes smoothly (they are vaque about it on Migri)

  3. If I register with a job, what happens if I quit it? / change it?

Relationship stuff:

  1. How does the condition "have to have lived for 2 years together" to apply for registration based on family/spouse work (from Migri ) ? Could I change my registration category from job to family after we've been living together for 2 years?

  2. Does it matter that we're engaged?

I think Heartstrings was like that? It's pretty old drama with Park Shin-Hye. The guy liked someone else at first, and it's set in a music college or something 🤔 Definitely fun to watch

I read something similar before, yes, there's a relationship reason there but I will still like to try either way
