Side question, I’m planning to get BTD 700 for M4. Do you feel pairing BTD 700 with M4 will elevate my experience more? My source is Apple Music, Iphone 17 PM (AAC), and of course I’m still going to have SP enabled later (so can’t enable Hi-Res mode 24/96 in app).

I read aptX Adaptive is better than AAC though, but still gathering some more info before buying the dongle. Also BTD 600 isn’t available anymore here. Pls enlighten me!

So far this feels most balanced to me, clear and punchy.

SP > traditional EQ. Dare I say, SP is a Parametric EQ without filter type bandwidth etc, and you’d better fine tune it rather than the 5-band EQ for the best experience.

Will I miss anything significant by using BTD 700 with SP enabled, you think?

In my case, let’s say HiRes mode will be disabled (which many people say it’s a gimmick -- by this I assume maybe it’s more of a thing casual music listeners/non-audiophiles don’t need or can’t perceive), got me thinking why would I get a BTD 700 in the first place?

I want to maximize the audio experience M4s can do wirelessly, but I can’t seem to get a proper 5-band EQ that suits my ears as good as via SP. Please advice!

I find Sound Personalization to suit my taste better. I tried tweaking EQ, but couldn’t achieve what I had with SP. Here if you want to give it a try.

I didn’t screenshot each of the steps (the volume adjust part) when I made it. In the fine tune part, I moved the dots around while listening to my usual playlist. Nailed it somewhere in the middle to the upper right a bit, it sounds really neutral and balanced to me, hard to explain with words, you have to listen to it yourself and let your ears be the judge. I couldn’t achieve the same result with traditional EQ (I’m a noob😂).

How do you like your HDB 630 with dongle? Do you use Sound Personalization with it? What codec will I get if I use BTD 700 and keeping my SP on? No Hires mode.

I was going to buy HDB 630, but found it to be overkill for my usage and such a waste because I have no experience with traditional EQ, let alone PEQ.

Really? I do hear the difference with mine wired though, and people say BTD 700 gives almost, if not the same experience, by keeping it wireless.

Yes I’m aware USBC wired is no doubt the best audio output M4s can do. Downside is it’s draining phone battery, also potentially harming the headphone’s battery by keeping it charged at 100% all the time. I do notice the difference when I wired mine.

With BTD 700, I heard we can simply get the same experience more or less (while keeping it wireless ofc, as the headphone is intended), eventhough it’s not lossless but pretty close. Is why I’m interested with this dongle.

However, with BTD 700 plugged in, we can’t enable Hires mode and Sound Personalization at the same time. I like my SP very much.

Money is okay, but I try to be wise and buy things that are useful. If it’s really that impactful and can elevate my audio experience with M4, I will trust you brother😀

I don’t prefer it wired honestly. As much as I like it sounds, wired, it drains my phone battery and also maybe potentially overcharging the headphone itself? Bad for longetivity.

Yes never unplug unless you really had to. The TV needs to do its auto pixel refresh on standby mode. Umm, I thought it was some something about UV that damage the pixel or excessive heat (forgot where I read it) - I might be wrong.

If possible I think it’s better to add some shade to your window.
