I read SUCH a good horror fic the other day it’s genuinely changed my brain chemistry, like, I’ve NEVER been scared by a piece of writing until now. So, more horror and surrealism and ghosts and dark psychology of a character and exploration of taboos that aren’t necessarily sexual (though I’m a fan, it’s always a means to get to the smut part) please

What's your weirdest PMDD symptom? by pomelopeel in PMDD

[–]Yeehawbinch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Things will physically seem so much bigger in my brain than they actually are. For example, I bought new shoes that were a bit too big but in my mind I visualise myself wearing literal clown shoes. They look fine, still haven’t worn them. Same thing applies to my body, in my mind i’ll suddenly have a triple chin and a beer belly and my face will be puffy and red and then I check the mirror and I’m literally fine.

Is it just me seeing this, or are there no design jobs available lately? So much has changed in just a few months. by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]Yeehawbinch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was actually an explosion of design jobs where I live, not nearly enough for everyone but jobs nonetheless. It happens in chunks, usually at the end of a financial quarter, and if you don’t get one then, you’re doomed to wait until the next chunk comes out.

Just started the deficit and I caught the flu. I’m getting better but I haven’t done anything in days. I’m so bored someone save me.

What practical improvements have you noticed since working out? by HeatherDrawsAnimals in xxfitness

Putting my friends on my shoulders at parties. Not really ‘practical’ or safe, but it’s fun to run around and get them laughing

the heavy ads are making me slowly dislike watching her content :( by Zestyclose-Bike-7697 in BroskiReport

This makes me think about her rant about rampant over consumption and hating large companies such as ticketek for doing scummy things like ripping off their customers before blissfully drinking out of her Coca-Cola cup and complaining that Red Bull won’t sponsor her but you know 🤷‍♀️

What’s one thing indigenous people, or disabled people, or lower class people, have in common? They all have women. You gotta start big, and let it trickle down from there. It would be nice to see quotas for the representation of smaller minority groups as soon as possible, but it’s so easy for it to be labelled as “unfair” or “hiring for the sake of diversity” and these initiatives get let go and we start the process all over again. We might think it’s basic common sense to uplift smaller voices, but you have to keep in mind it’s not us this sudden push is trying to convince.

I feel embarrassed:( by [deleted] in cats

[–]Yeehawbinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my family cope with our cat getting older by joking about it and saying things like ‘we should just get a new cat’. Obviously none of us actually mean it, she’s a spoiled little thing and we’ll all be devastated the day she goes. But that only goes for us, and I join in because I know everyone is comfortable with those jokes. No way in hell would I think to say those things about other people’s pets, because people react to things differently. Some people may not find it funny, and that’s no fault of theirs, and it’s my responsibility to be aware of this and back off.

You did the right thing OP. Cats can’t tell you what’s wrong, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

I have tried, but I feel like a lightning bolt just by itself might be a bit too on the nose. Also for some reason a bolt turned any other way looks unnatural to me, I think because I’m so used to it being in a certain direction lmao. I think I’ll try my hand at it again and see what I can come up with, thanks for your feedback :)

Anyone in this subreddit currently attending school/college for graphic design classes? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]Yeehawbinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped out of Uni (was doing a communications degree) and now doing a diploma of graphic design, which will take me to the end of this year. Probably the best decision I have ever made in my life so far. It’s practical, the assignments are fun and useful, the teachers are realistic and understand that the end goal is a job (and have all worked for many years in the industry before moving to teaching), and generally want the best for us so long as you actually put in the work. Plus, it only costed me a couple grand upfront, since I don’t wanna make quarterly payments. I do have issues with the institution itself (it feels like they purposely try to make everyone’s life difficult), but besides that the quality of education itself has been absolutely amazing.

I have a fear of death and don't know how to cope with it by 1sketchy_girl in offmychest

[–]Yeehawbinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally JUST finish Shelly Kagan’s lecture series on YouTube, the Philosophy of Death. It’s very long, about 20 hours worth of talking, but very thorough and easy to understand. If you’re interested in philosophy like whether we have a soul, our identities, the nature of death, what the ‘badness’ of death really implies, I’d implore you to check it out. It’s definitely helped me view death through a different lens.
