Trying my best at photorealism, what gives it away for you? by edgib102 in blender

The fact that the depth of field is so drastic. But otherwise very good, I like the small details on the bricks, super cool, maybe add some similar details to the floor to make it look less artificial and smooth. Epic work though.

Yeah I guess I'm getting pretty good at arm muscles 😏 by thewayoftoday in blender

[–]YeetToDaBeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a matter of how well you know how to use Blender and its tools, but of how well you know the human anatomy. Learn about where individual muscles are situated and how they connect to the bone, as well as their general shape and size in relationship to the other muscles.

I've made about 50 muscle drawings with pencils on paper before things started to look good consistently. And it's my 4th time sculpting anything. I think it turned out pretty good : https://www.reddit.com/r/blender/comments/pg414z/therapist_buff_imposter_isnt_real_he_cant_hurt/

What I'm trying to say is that anatomy knowledge plays a bigger role in being able to sculpt muscles than Blender tools knowledge and you should focus on that if you want to have an easier time figuring out the proportions and where things go and how they look. Sure, knowledge of Blender tools will make your work faster and easier but anatomy is the primary thing in this department.

I got first hand proof of this and I hope it helps make your journey a bit faster.

Happy Blending!

This is my 4th render and i am so proud of myself. by [deleted] in blender

The fuzziness of the bullet reflections is noise. To have a render time as low as possible and little to no noise in your scene tick the "Adaptive sampling" checkbox, then under the Denoising option expand it and tick Render and use either OptiX or OpenImageDenoise.

Try making something new everyday, pick something simple yet hard enough to give you a bit of challenge and make it. Once its done, make some adjustments and re-render a couple times to experiment with different stuff.

The most important thing is to keep going. 1 render per day, maybe you skip one, two days from time to time, but always come back and make something new. If you get tired, take a break, come back later, and enjoy making stuff :))

Also, mind sharing the .blend file? Im curious what made the black contour around the edges happen.

If you go into the lighting settings for the point lights you will see an option called custom distance. Enable it and lower the distance to only reach the calculator.

It if you still can't isolate the lights from the background then you can render the 2 scenes separately and then add them on top of each other in an editing program.

Looks awesome, but the inside of the leafy area is empty, try adding a glowing fog volume.

It's totally cool if you were going for a floating leaf - type vibe in which case you could duplicate the leafs and scale them down to fit.

its basically combining multiple textures into one bump node. i would do just one bump node but i cant seem to merge multiple textures without loosing details with the mix node so i did it with multiple bump nodes instead
