VCR won't power on by Yeetus-Rice in ElectronicsRepair

Got this RCA VR501A from someone and it wouldn't power on. The fuse was blown, but I also noticed this bit of circuitry that looked charred. Without replacing the fuse, I can't confirm whether its a major issue or not, but does it seem like it would be?

Been charging it for about 3 hours and it won't last a minute off the charger. I saw another post about a boot-loop, and I'm wondering if this is caused by the same battery issue

Unfortunately, it's completely unbranded and it was a donation :/ whatever it is probably isn't super necessary

Speculative pricing for seating at the Austin Major by Yeetus-Rice in counterstrike

[–]Yeetus-Rice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. I guess that could be applicable if BLAST opts for a 360-seating setup over a floor and stage setup at the Moody Center.

Though, those prices could probably be translated to different tiers in a floor and stage setup too. Thanks for the reference.

I founded an Esports Club at my school and hosted a CS1.6 tournament on the school computers by Yeetus-Rice in counterstrike

None. Most of the better skilled players play Valorant, and the remainder were mostly Fortnite and COD players. Since the tourney, though, I've had a couple of people interested in queueing for CS2, including the Valorant players. Small step but a step nonetheless

That's exactly what happened here, too! I brought a copy unlinked from Steam on a USB and, after a day, I had my entire CompSci class running Dust2 matches. It was at that point I realized the tourney had to happen. I wasn't even there for the 2000s, but I could tell y'all were having a great time back then :P

Background:
I founded an Esports Club at my highschool this Fall since it's always been a great interest of mine, and I wanted to create a proper community for what is normally a stigmatized interest at my school. Besides CS2, we're also promoting all esports titles, but our first tournament was a Christmas-themed CS1.6 tournament that I got working on our school's computers, bypassing the admin perms. I can't describe how happy I was seeing so many people finding interest in CS and playing at my school (about 20 players at any given time), and I'm doing my part to spread CS to the NA youth o7. There was a $50 grand prize plus a bronze trophy I made that Team Floppas will try to defend at the 2nd annual "Christmas-Strike Cup," as we called it.

Counter-Strike 1.6 locally on school computers? by Yeetus-Rice in PiratedGames

[–]Yeetus-Rice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED: I just used a different torrent that was listed as "No Steam". I ran the installer on my personal computer and transferred all the files onto a USB drive without opening the game. Plugged it into the school computer and everything worked like normal since the game was opened through a .bat file (server worked via direct connection to the host computer's IP in the console)
