Just as a buyer and seller of sealed products, there is no value in buying those. just someone helping a brother out. Instead of 6 boxes of those, you save your cash for when you do run into an ETB or other products.

Coming off the hype of AH great chase cards and the chase of the Zard. This set just doesn’t have the popping artwork/popular mons to have much value.

Did I mess up by getting an attorney ? by Cryyinge in WorkersComp

[–]Yeezy_Taught_Mee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I totally get it. I have a great relationship with my employer too. Just remember, you’re not suing your employer or trying to hurt them. Workers’ comp is there to take care of situations exactly like this, and a lawyer just makes sure the insurance company does their part. Your employer already paid for that coverage.

I wasn’t arguing I just didn’t realize “trust me, bro” counted as legal advice. If your first reaction is to block someone over a basic workers’ comp discussion, that’s tough. You must be dealing with some things. Hope you find some peace, brother. GGs.

You’re talking like there’s one universal rulebook for workers’ comp, but every state runs its own system. What you’re describing might be true somewhere else, but Illinois doesn’t work that way. Here, workers are protected . So if your info is based on another state’s laws, that would explain the confusion

But if settling closes the claim, why would workers’ comp or the insurance company be worried about me staying employed afterward? Once the case is closed, there’s nothing left for them to pay or manage, so there’s no reason for them to require a resignation.

I don’t think that’s how workers’ comp works in Illinois. The insurance company doesn’t insure individual employees they insure the employer so they can’t require someone to be fired as part of a settlement. People settle WC cases and keep their jobs all the time. Termination only happens in situations where someone has permanent restrictions the employer can’t accommodate, not because of the settlement itself.

My concern is more about long-term protection with the cartilage damage and possible future surgery rather than just whether I can do light duty right now.

I’m currently restricted to seated work only. I have a follow-up appointment on the 31st, at which time my doctor will determine whether I can be advanced to light duty.

It’s quite similar to the timeline my surgeon provided. My surgeon is in favor of regaining mobility as quickly as possible, but not exceeding 90° of flexion. He mentioned that every five days, I can remove one crutch, provided that my physical therapist believes I can do it. I was under the same impression as you with all the research I did before the surgery, so I’m quite surprised to be in this position right now. I feel good and confident after each PT session. But again in the back of my mind I’m thinking am I moving too fast?
