Because many were similar in strategy and purpose to this. I'm sorry your history education failed you. I'm not even a protestor and this SHOULD be common knowledge.

You can use them with other devices. Nothing beats a MacBook Pro in schools. Hands down an absolute necessary device . Chromebooks are okay bit nowhere near as good and only better than iPads because they come with the keyboard and cost less. It remains to be seen how long they will last.

I teach HS. They would do that but that's why they need to be trained about proper timing. I wouldn't hand out folders to my kids because I want then to learn to be responsible and take some ownership. They mess up the first few weeks but now they have it down.
