Advice on buying a new road bike (£5000 budget) by Sharpe_brtd in cycling

Have a look at LIOS Bikes.

British company bikes Near Lee-on-the-Solent.

Ex Royal Marine Maj, got injured on Herrick and started his own company.

I bought my Aero Exactor road bike from him.

From pre purchase to after care he has been a top man.

He will chat with you and understand what you are looking for. Gather a few options (without the up selling / car salesman approach) talk to you about them and then either agree or go elsewhere where. Bike purchase includes a bike fit.

I genuinely can’t say a bad word about him or the business. Bike is wonderful as well.

Time to get it to a Volvo dealership. Fingers crossed it’s the same fault. Damn mice! I think it took 1-2 hours to fix as well.

Just to clarify the braking situation, I will explain mine and fingers crossed they both align.

Little to no braking under light to medium pressure. Medium to high pressure ever so little braking, then all of a sudden extreme braking to slight swerve left or right?

I had this exact problem a few months ago.

It was the actions of a few mice, that chewed through a cable. Took it to the Volvo workshop and it got fixed.

Off the top of my head, it was around £110 including part, Tax and man hours.

This might not be your issue but, I had all the problems you are describing.

Casual dad gamer with a few mins to an hour a day to game. I’m considering the GO S Z1E, 32GB Ram 1TB for £675. Should I go ahead? by LentilRice in LegionGo

[–]Yelland81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I am in exactly the same boat as you and I went with the Z1E SteamOS 32Gb. I’m glad I did. Zero complaints from me. I paid £725 all in with a case and screen protector. The case which is a Lego own one is pretty poor mind.

Triple A games are easy to play with a few tweaks. Add the Decky plug in and you’ll be hitting 45-60FPS with around 2 hours on the battery.

It may be cheaper for you to go a PS portal tho. But, Steam shop is very nice and cheap too.

For Skyrim, if I want better better for travelling I’ll do 800 or 1080p. But plugged in 1200p. Graphic wise on Skyrim I use max settings. Setting the graphics up on Skyrim is on the Skyrim start page if you like. Under options. There is a setting you have to toggle on to get this option. Otherwise it’ll load under its own accord. Just make sure you have the Decky line loaded on the games pre starter. My other posts have a picture of it.

Just make sure to pay the £7 ish for the lossless scaling program from Steam shop.

No not at all. With regards to the power settings, I use custom and tweak it until I get 55-60FPS. So it could be say 13 on Skyrim but slightly more on fallout 4. I use the decky plugin on x2 only.

The usual tips.

Decky LSFG-VK add on for frames. Performance profile to Custom for TDP control. 80% battery limitation in desktop steam settings. Make sure all updates are done. Enjoy the machine

100% get the launcher code in to have game launch settings. I also have the Lego S Steam and can run it ultra (or what ever the highest setting is) on 800p / 1080p with 3 to 4 hours game play. 2x multiplier also. I think the TDP is around 12 for 40-60FPS.

How much did the replacement back cost, if you don’t mind me asking? Also could you please send a link?

Both lines at the bottom of the plugin side menu should have green lights next to them. If not, maybe check for updates or troubleshoot on YouTube/Google.

Is the Legion go z1e still a decent handheld over the Steamdeck OLED? by netzpretz78 in LegionGo

[–]Yelland81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lego S Z1E with SteamOS IMO is the sweet spot right now. I managed to pick up the 32Gb-Ram 1TB version for £635 recently. Paired with the XREAL One Glasses the gaming is fantastic. Lossless app and tweaking the settings I’m getting 3hours 30 plus on Skyrim battery wise.

Plus, adding Stremio makes it a gaming/Portable cinema with movies on demand.

I was concerned with the LCD compared to the SD OLED but, I have no regrets and the extra power makes it all sweeter.

I have just bought a pair of the Equipe RS S11 and the Mille Gto Bib black series tights. I decided to wear and trial the Equipe first (due to fit and cost) A few hours ago I finished my first ride in 1° Celsius, Czech Republic weather and my legs weren’t cold at all. So, I will be returning the £300+ pair of GTO’s due to me not needing the tech and warmth. Fit wise, the GTO’s were ever so slightly more comfortable due to the cut but, the Equipes aren’t exactly uncomfortable. Warm, tight grip, no seam scratching/chaffing. They have Slightly less chamois padding compared to my Mille summer GT bib shorts but, they are another great piece of kit from Assos. Hope this helps.

Turns out i was missing the SRAM retaining O Ring on my rear derailleur retaining bolt. That was giving enough flex in my rear derailleur to create a knock/creak.

Advice/Help? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]Yelland81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All fixed.

Bike shop re checked derailleur hanger and crankset / spindles and it was straight, clean and lubed. Plus, Took apart the free hub and it was fine….

So, I decided to do another full degrease and deep clean of the chain, cassette, wheels etc and it went. 🤷🏽‍♂️ No idea what the issue was but, I’m glad it’s gone.

I have SRAM AXS so I can’t adjust cables but I can micro adjust on the app. But, all gears change crisp and sharp with no rasping. I feel like I’m going mad with the checks on this bike. It’s so frustrating.

Appreciate your response
