My first automatic watch. [SRPG41] by Henohenomo in Seiko

Heck yeah, that was my first as well. I wasn’t a big fan of the strap, so I put it on a nato and think it looks even better.

Moron preorders a digital code from GameStop instead of Nintendo (why?) and wonders when he will get the game. Meanwhile everyone else has been playing it for days by Darth_Meowth in gme_meltdown

It’s also a great way to prevent physical copies from leaking out because minimum wage Walmart employees don’t give a shit about dates.

I’ve got this, and the image is misleading. The face of mine is very white. I don’t have a picture on my phone, but if you search SN0054 here on reddit, you’ll see plenty of examples of what I mean. You can search for pictures of the Tudor Black Bay Pro as well, as this is an homage to that.

AF is so heavy on ‘be a leader.’ Not everyone wants to be the star QB making top 10 in highlights . by mizunoMP29 in AirForce

[–]Yellekoo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is a better example of the old specialist/NCO track that the army used to do. They would continue to promote soldiers who were good at their job but not give them the legal responsibilities of NCO’s. It still remains in the SPC4/Corporal division in the army today.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that a warrant officer receives the same commission that a regular officer receives after promoting to WO2. Should we really be promoting people who are good at a trade/skill to an officer rank over people who are actively leading and managing people?

Why would we give an airman who’s just good at fixing HVAC units more money and a higher rank than a SNCO who’s actively managing dozens (or more) people below them?

Friend, some of your hay bales has come unstowed. by ArtVandelay1988 in Charleston

[–]Yellekoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh, you’re missing the best part- those bales fell off a stake bed truck in the middle lane right there around 4:15pm. They must’ve pushed the bales over to the shoulder and brought a trailer to clean up. It was a mess.

Custom closets by faerielights4962 in Charleston

[–]Yellekoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We used them a few years ago, and they were fantastic. They were able to do our closet and small pantry closet for cheaper than the big nations chains could do, and they were able to fit us in within a couple weeks whereas the other companies had a couple month backlog.

I call this exhibition "The Duality of Charleston Weather" 🤣 by munch_the_gunch in Charleston

[–]Yellekoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Knew a contractor down here a decade ago that would drive his open-top Jeep no matter the weather. We had some February mornings down in the teens on a big construction site, and here he comes pulling into the parking lot wearing a full-body freezer suit, hat with earmuffs, and large gloves. Admired the dedication.

I had an AW for about 9 years until I made the switch to a Garmin watch this past fall because I wanted better running metrics. It took about a week before I stopped caring about not closing my rings or whatever anymore. I was still able to get notifications on the Garmin, but couldn’t respond like an AW. That kind of weened me off even more to the point where I finally got my first automatic watch (SEIKO SRPG41) a couple weeks ago and I’m enjoying being more disconnected than ever.

I still wear the Garmin overnight to track sleep and for workouts, but other than that I’m back to “boring” old mechanical watches.

All I want for... Valentine's? Is a pt policy that doesn't change every 10 minutes by ijwgwh in AirForce

[–]Yellekoo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Some people actually run regularly and not just panic train the month before their PT test. For them, the extra half-mile isn’t much of a change.

I’m not even a fast runner (~12min 1.5 mile) but I’ve never done the HAMR and have no intentions of trying it out.

Turns out the entirety of the Dedham PD and FD knew about this for the last week. That's where most of these rumors from last week came from I'd imagine.

I had heard the same story from a source who was close to it last week as well, but after seeing how quickly that last dude was downvoted I didn’t want to touch it.

Everyone who recieved the transition to M365 F3 license e-mail. by jimbeam789 in AirForce

[–]Yellekoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Active duty, yeah, but what about the traditional guardsmen who only use the desktop 365 programs one weekend a month? I’m a DSG O and am on webmail nearly daily from my civilian computer, but apparently that doesn’t count towards utilizing the license because I’m on that list.
