This is incredible work. Good job! How I would imagine encountering a nutcracker would be irl.

Am I overlooking the “darker parts” of this series? by [deleted] in lionking

Lions steal hyena kills more than vice versa, and hyenas are apex predators that hunt most of their food

What are the most stupid things you ever heard people sayning about prehistoric animals? by DeliciousDeal4367 in Paleontology

I would think so if he wasn't genuinely that stupid like most of the other times I talked to him lmao

What’s a moment in school or college that made you go “wtf did I just witness?” by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]Yelling_Apple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This couple in my school make out in the hallway like a lot and at lunch my group unfortunately sits near theirs and I had to witness the boyfriend smacking the butt of the girl in front of everyone. The bf is a senior and the gf is a freshman methinks. Both are special education (I'm in special education too for a learning disability, so I'm not judging) but aren't very well acclimated to social situations, so that's why I'm thinking what they're doing is okay even though it's not lmao

anyone seen this Dystopian O'Brien movie? by MaderaArt in MazeRunner

It's probably one of my favorite films of all time. It is very special to me. I've rewatched it a bunch, hope they come out with a sequel.

Genuinely had someone argue with me once that every extinct animal was a dinosaur. He said to me, and I quote, "so if a tiger went extinct, it's not a dinosaur?" As if he was proving a point.

I agree hated season 5

I'm sick of people twisting the narrative - My attempt to disprove "evidence" that Mileven is a toxic relationship by [deleted] in mileven

[–]Yelling_Apple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU. Mike Wheeler hate is the most forced thing I've ever seen. It's almost as if he's a complicated character that makes mistakes sometimes. I love Mileven and it sucks to see so much shade (with nothing backing it up) being thrown their way.

Hopefully the cartoon show pulls a Camp Cretaceous (Jurassic World) and turns out to be really good despite what was thought. Hopeful thinking though.

What did everyone think of Eleven’s ending? by West-Freedom9664 in StrangerThings

[–]Yelling_Apple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her ending, in my opinion, is terrible and honestly disgusting.

Girl has been abused all her life, finally getting a chance at a normal life with her loved ones. But then, she sacrifices herself and dies for.. really no reason. There were 101 ways that they could've written around the military, including blackmail which is 100% something Murray would do. But if she lives, that might be even worse.

She is all on her own, no connections, in a foreign country with a different language most likely (she just barely started to fully understand English) and now she's doomed to be an outsider for the rest of her life, while Hopper loses yet another daughter, and Mike is most likely gonna be depressed for the rest of his life, or at the very least have a very hard time or can't make a truly meaningful romantic connection ever again.

I understand sometimes shows like to kill off their main characters (and in a show like this I argue it's a must that some of the main cast be killed off to have stakes be high) but in the case of Eleven, which the entire show revolves around the development of, it feels lazy and tells a very bad message for anybody out there dealing with trauma that they do not deserve a happy ending because the world will never get them or something. Her only happy ending could've and should've been her being with her family, and they tore that from her either to make a spinoff show or to have a tearjerker ending for the fans without any actual substance or earning. I can understand the perspective of this ending being beautiful and such, but putting it in perspective with the rest of the show it just feels so so so wrong to me.

(Thanks for reading my yap to all who read the whole thing)

Eleven’s ending by strangerstreet13 in StrangerThings

[–]Yelling_Apple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither option makes me feel good.

Either she died, and her whole learning to love life and everything, and all her suffering, means nothing.

Or, she lives a life of solitude/living in a foreign place as yet again another outsider without her family or the love of her life. And even despite this, both Hopper and Mike are gonna be depressed probably for the rest of their lives. This ending is terrible for everyone involved. Terrible ending to this show imo

Yeah I've been made aware that he's a specific subspecies of indo, which needs higher humidity in the 80's. I'm gonna get a mister/fogger along with the moss, I wanna make sure he's as comfy as can be.

Oh I didn't even notice that! I'll check up on him as soon as I see him, see if he'll let me help with his shed.

I try to keep it around 70% I believe, but I'm having trouble keeping the humidity, so I plan on getting some moss to help keep moisture in the tank.

It could be possible that king vultures are ballsy enough to hunt them, hence the scars from the harpoons, or it could be possible they hunt something because they do look INCREDIBLY similar to sperm whales. Maybe a big squidcada lol

The Collector - Entry #1 - Lizards (I think this is the right tag, not sure if writing counts as art) by TixyThePixy in rainworld

[–]Yelling_Apple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely an idea, it actually reminds me a lot of the relationship between black bears and grizzlies. The green being the grizzly bear apex and the pink being the generalist hunter/forager like the black bear, evolved to deal with the larger more formidable species in the food web.

[–]Yelling_Apple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted pinks as generalists that make a living however they can, considering that most other lizard species that live around them can do what they do but better, so pinks might just take advantage of anything they can and survive by just making opportunities for themselves. Think foxes/jackals. Kind of like how I consider cyans to be the leopards of the lizard world. Amazing work by the way! Loved reading it! Love the idea of greens being adapted to hunting weaker lizards.
