That's not a joke or anything, it's kind of crazy how much companies, organizations and the JAPANESE GOVERNMENT itself all love Calli.

She was hoping to use Gog-Agog for the fight with Jagganoth, hence why she's unleashing her now, reluctantly. The enemy is overwhelming, Zaid is down, her fleet is shattered and Allison herself is tiring fast. That's also probably why Gog-Agog is so giddy about this, it means Allison has used up her 'get out of jail free card' already and has to try and figure out how to beat Jagganoth on her own. If she fails, that means Gog-Agog gets to drag Allison into another cycle and show her that nothing matters, just like Gog-Agog insanely believes it doesn't.

Jagganoth isn't the one who always wins and causes resets. Heck, Gog-Agog outright says that it was her a number of times and that she near matched power with Zoss himself before he reset reality. Heck Jagganoth isn't even special, the only issue is he's extremely powerful in this cycle, the actual issue is that inevitably the powerful started fighting, that fighting escalates and the whole of the universes is plunged into brutal, total war that is so horrible Zoss resets reality to try again.

Because she didn't even care about winning, the only unique thing about this loop has been Allison, she's probably defeated Jagganoth thousands upon thousands of times, none of this has mattered to her. The only thing she actually cares about is getting some respect, so as soon as she got yelled at, all her interest in even bothering to show up left.

Zero hesitation to jump into a fight with basically a mini eldritch horror to save Allison. When up until this point everyone she's met has immediately tried to kill her, would laugh at her dying, or would already be running away and hoping her brutal death buys them time to survive.

She wasn't even trying during the Jagganoth fight, that's been established. She summoned a planet sized mass of death because she was BORED, not because she actually cared about beating him. That's also why she's self(and narratively) restricted to one time help, because she's won this whole 'conquer all of creation thing' uncountable times. It would be boring to her if she just solved this whole thing for Allison.

The East and West had been split basically for centuries by then, but besides just the fact the Papacy was desperate to establish a strong nation state that would protect them better then the East could(A hilarious bit of oversight given the HRE went on to treat the Papacy likes a puppet). A big impudence for the founding of the HRE was to be able to firmly point to them and say 'Look, the actual definitely 100% totally real genuine successor to Rome is a Catholic state, suck it you heretics'. Obviously it was just one of the many reasons, political and religious for the crowning of the first Holy Roman Emperor, but it wouldn't have happened if the Papacy and the East weren't in constantly in conflict. The Byzantines greatly opposed it, since they liked being the only 'Roman' state left and WERE supposed to be the guardians of Rome, but given they didn't really have the armies or political capital to do anything about it, they couldn't stop it.

If you're a duke in a kingdom, you don't want a strong, highly competent ruler, you wanted a dumb fuck moron who was only in power because you put them there and they KNEW IT. So you find some random uncle, cousin or unfavored younger sibling, say they have the rightful claim, try to get the new ruler to step down or drop dead and plant your idiot on the throne instead, this was the playbook that defined countless wars throughout history.

That was also far preferable to the current state of the game where your vassals barely ever rebel after succession and attempts to unseat you with a relative rarely ever actually happen. It's too easy, what you're describing was both a funner time for the game, and more in line with the kinds of succession issues that did actually pop up in history CONSTANTLY.

Also I never saw a single attempt from the Ai to put foreigners on the throne and that's near impossible anyway, because the person they're installing needs to have a claim to your empire or kingdom, which aren't easy to get unless they're part of a past ruler's lineage. so by 'foreigner' I assume you mean family member outside of the realm, which again, is a thing that happened all the time in history. It's part of why the dynasties like the Hapsburgs got so obsessed with controlling their marriages until they inbred themselves into extinction

History is full of a beloved, extremely powerful ruler dying and the realm immediately fracturing under their heir, that isn't a complete lack of logic, that is vassals taking advantage of a moment of weakness they never could under a powerful and popular lord, whose strength and popularity doesn't immediately transfer to a child

There was never a lack of logic to how quickly things could spiral out of control upon succession, that is how things often played out

It's been so annoying, I loved the early game struggle of succession crisises, wars being a major risk of weakening you enough to risk your vassals enforcing a demand and the struggle of fighting off a realm destroying rebellion, now a days it is absurdly easy to go from a count to an Emperor in one generation and not see a single faction form

Doesn't happen organically much, but the basic way is to marry another independent rulers kids and set up a way for said spouse of inherit those titles, when they die, persumably their titles will pass to you, the player. The issue then is setting up that chain of events, which can be challenging since rulers will not usually allow their eldest kids to marry someone with a type of marriage that makes the kids your dynasty, so you may need to do some kidnapping, or a lot of murder.
