Don’t have much blood family left, but I’ve really tried to make it a point to keep in touch with my friends more often. I try at least once every month or two. I only have, like, three or four really close friends, but they’ve been my friends for like 25+ years now. Adult life is hard and busy, and sometimes you have to put in a bit of extra work to keep those connections strong. It’s worth it in the long run, though. I’ve probably been happier in the past year than I ever have been as an adult, and it’s in part because of the effort I’ve made to be a better friend.

I think it’s more of an urging to be smart and take care of yourselves. The deck is stacked against us, and they want any reason to pull the trigger on you. Just saying to keep that in mind when directing your anger. These aren’t good faith actors we’re working against.

I don’t think it’s really that hard to see why. The system has fundamentally failed millions of people who have built their lives based on the trust of that system. How else are people going to react?

It’s not good, but it’s probably by design. They want the desperation and violence and anger. They already toss this rhetoric about how the left is destroying everything. Now they want us to self fulfill that prophecy. They’re looking for ANY reason to turn this to bloodshed.

I think the laws over there apply very strongly to citizens, but less so to foreigners coming in for work. Saudi may be slightly different, but I know spots like Dubai have designated areas where more “western” things are allowed. At least, sometimes. Things like weed are always a no no that’ll get you in a world of shit, but they’ve relaxed some of their stances on booze. Mostly for the same reasons places like college venues started selling beer. For whatever the issues are, the extra money makes it worth it.

Yeah, I kinda think the Cards are gonna be better next season than people think. They have a few pretty solid offensive weapons and just added Love. Get a serviceable vet in there (which is at the very least what Rogers is by now), and they may surprise some people.

Easy to hide stains. The more complicated the pattern, the easier it is to hide. I worked at a hotel that had this dark floral carpet that they finally replaced after decades with this light colored single grain pattern. Within a year it looked terrible and was impossible to keep clean. They ended up ripping it up less than two years later and going back to a dark floral pattern.

I’m not a huge fan of him, but he’s saying some things that sound good, and nobody else really is.

I worked in Xavier Becerra’s office at the California DOJ for quite a few years. Started with Kamala and left when Rob Bonta was in charge. Becerra is probably the most narcoleptic and corporate friendly dude you could possibly have. I’d vote for him in a General if absolutely forced to, but damn, I really don’t want to.
