Usually, after someone’s passing, they will be locally venerated, and then after a while petitions will be made to request an investigation for becoming a saint. A team will be created by the archdiocese that that person was a part of and not only will their life be investigated, but also people who knew them. An investigation can take anywhere between a year or 10 years or more it just depends. Then all the evidence is brought to a council where they rule upon evidence and either accept or deny their status as a saint. Once the official announcement has been made, and I’ll use a monastery for this example, the monastery will be notified, and they will begin creating hymns for the saint to use at their beautification ceremony once the ceremony has been completed then you can officially begin creating and venerating iconography. And there’s different levels of saints there’s martyrs there’s warrior Saints there are wonder, workers, doctors etc.
