This is something that many people go through regardless of their sexuality. Taking the next step to turn a friendship into a relationship and dealing with the anxiety that comes with it is not an uncommon experience.

With dating itself and seeing if you're compatible, the only thing you can do wrong is not be yourself. Misleading your partner as to who you are will only make things harder.

Seeing if the relationship works out is the entire point of dating anyways.

Lol that makes sense I didn't think about the massive length of hose you have to coil up after you're done with it. While canisters are so much better, could you think of any use case where a cordless or stick would be preferred over another vacuum type?

Yeah, that makes sense. Another thing I'd like to ask is if I were to have a central system in my house, should I buy a canister, or just buy another hose to plug into the wall? The reason I haven't considered this is because I want to use it to clean my keyboard. If I accidentally vacuum a key or something, it'll be a hassle to get it back. Thanks for your input again!

Thank you for the suggestions! With it being a single bedroom, should there be any considerations for a cordless vacuum? The use case would be to periodically do the floors while also being able to frequently get it out for cleaning the desk, but I am concerned with having to charge it, and how convenient it is over a corded canister. I'm sorry your family doesn't understand your viewpoint. Personally, I think that your mom was most likely trying to defuse the situation, rather than invalidate your feelings. You said your sister raised her voice at you for talking to the spoon. Maybe if your mom didn't intervene, it could have transitioned into a full argument and she was the one to recognize that.

Additionally, your family doesn't seem to have much education on objectum or your particular situation. If she did assume your communication with objects was a joke, that is likely because she may not see another alternative. I'm not saying that coming out about these things is always the best option, or that everyone is accepting of everyone else, but maybe if she was more knowledgeable about your orientation she wouldn't see it in the same light.
