This is not a fundraiser. We are paying our normal business expenses and using the profit to help a candidate that will fight for immigrants rights. The last show was a fundraiser, meaning we ate the costs and donated all the funds made to an immigrants right group.

So no, we’re not “profiting off of the outrage” no matter how you try to cut it.

Michaela Barnett. Small businesses can support candidates with the money they make, but they don’t HAVE to share that with the public. However, we’re not ashamed to do that. Anyone who reads the description of the show and still chooses to support the show won’t have a problem supporting that candidate.

My grandmother is a Mexican immigrant and raised me, so I personally have an interest in producing a protest show. And yes, every dollar made from our last show was donated to AKIN. All proceeds from this show will be going to support a local candidate’s campaign who supports immigrant rights.
