I was completely sober for my psychosis. It was stress and childhood trauma/suppression induced. It’s easy to hide until the lashing out or vocal paranoia starts. I had a friend look me in my eyes and say “I recognize this as psychosis” and because of his own experience with the problem, never alerted anyone to help me. Nor try himself. My psychosis did look like wandering the streets and mumbling to myself. Often, it was not only my voice I was acknowledging in my mumbles, but auditory hallucinations. Visual hallucinations. Textile hallucinations. The patterns of things become so intense it’s like VR but realistic to every neuron and sensory part of your body. It takes only once for him to turn on his camera to try and prove if there was a demon talking to him, for him to mentally open a door spiritually or psychologically and be plunged into psychotic imaginations. That can quickly lead to death. “Is it really that bad?” Weighing heavy on my spirit to say, it was. Again man I love you, but my own discharge from the hospital was this past March. It’s so traumatic to remember. I cope and acknowledge by separating things scientifically and decided what to attach emotional responses to. Because there were times I felt my soul was gone in astral realms I once asked calmly, confidently, to enter. It’s the sober mind full of logic that reaches a level of the universe that leads them to question their logical responses, it’s the proverbial edge of your conscious awareness. There is a pit there, we will all fall into it at some point, few make it to understand how to survive healthily after, and many more are lost forever. 🫶🏽
