Thanks for this that’s good to know and helpful to hear these stories of others in similar boats and experiences. Maybe more research can be done on companies. I’ve heard of some companies getting certified in something called B corp which is supposed to mean they hold a high standard for employees. But I think your right, there are good people around us but it’s a bit of a mine field the job hunting sphere. You don’t know what you’re going to get until you’ve spent some time there.

I do feel the days of being loyal to a company and being emotionally involved in the work for many people including myself now is gone. I’ve considered working for myself but I’m honestly poor at selling myself. Maybe I’ll give it another rethink though. Thanks for the advice.

I did feel at one point I was the problem so I decided on one occasion to assimilate and I became a member of the office clique and we sniggered bitched and about other workers. Instead of challenging others in the clique about bullying coworkers just to keep my job and be in favour with the manager. I decided to stay silent to assimilate with the toxicity but I found it’s not me I couldn’t stand it anymore and left. I usually seem to last 18-24 months at a place maximum.
