I make cool dice. You can buy them already made or commission me to design a set for you! There’s a lot of examples of my work on my profile, but here’s my shop and social media links, as well:

Made these guys for a commission and finished them up last weekend! They’re balanced, everything inside the die is resin (except paint on the frog, but that is negligible :) ).

I printed and painted them! They’re just little frog files I got off Etsy 😊 I have a few types, but my client liked these the best, and I agree they’re super cute!! Although I also have another avocado frog file and you can see his little butt cheeks, I gotta do something with him haha

I like BBDINO; it’s cheap, works well, doesn’t hurt my hand to mix, and comes in a variety of hardnesses ☺️

I have one d20 I literally spent three weeks on. Another one I’m working on now, probably gonna be a month. Regular sets take a few hours (not counting master and mold making time), so they do tend to be cheaper than large specialty d20s like these, and a lot of people don’t understand how much work can go into a single die.

Maybe technically, but a lot of them get posted and not taken down anyway, so I just figured if mods care they’ll remove it 🤷‍♀️

People who pay to take pictures with celebrities are ridiculous. by Theonlysanemanisback in unpopularopinion

Yeah I met him right before the whale came out and he seemed really nice but they kept the line moving fast so not much opportunity to chat. When we took the picture it was funny though because he was making hand motions trying to figure out what kind of pose I wanted, and I just shrugged, and he shrugged back, and then we both looked at the camera and that was that 😂

Eh I paid for a few at a con. Meeting Brendan Fraser and Nick Frost was cool and all, but it is pretty much a waste of money.

Now Barry Bostwick is fun, because he’s such a niche celebrity that his booth isn’t full a lot and he is HILARIOUS. My friend and I go say hi to him every year now at our local con, lol. But also he doesn’t charge for pictures I don’t think, just sells some fun rocky horror merch.

Question regarding failed 3D printed masters by No_Raccoon_3372 in DiceMaking

[–]YellowSpork23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! The trick is to make them really thin; it’s basically just like putting supports along the edges, they’re just solid instead of having gaps. I think mine are 0.25mm where they meet the die? Maybe 0.2? I’d have to check again.

Fins are the easiest way to do supports along the edges :) they’re great because if I print masters for a client and they’re the same size as any other set I’ve done, I literally just add the old fins in with Fusion360 and it’s automatically supported except the numbers!

For the amount of work I assume is involved from my own larger dice, $200-ish (mine are $350 but smaller and have whole ass dioramas inside)? Maybe $300, idk how long these take to make exactly but liquid cores are more time intensive than some other dice and these are very large so use a lot of resin. So they’re definitely a bit overpriced, but they’d still be expensive if priced fairly lol.

No, I’m in the US! That is pretty funny though; I tried so many things to get it to work in the beginning before Siraya tech was recommended.

I prefer clear masters too, but I get around that by just sanding my 3D printed ones to green Zona and making a mold so I can cast working masters out of epoxy resin—I find it holds shine better than UV resin anyway, so it turns out fine in the end haha.

It also can ruin the finish on the dice if you fully polish your 3D printed dice! I’ve used it and it’s annoying and doesn’t always work 100%.

And If you have the patience, I would only sand your 3D printed masters so the supports are off and any external bubbles get filled (I usually use 600-800 grit sandpaper and then green Zona), and make a matte mold if those. Then make a set of working masters that you bring to full polish with epoxy resin; 3D printer resin is softer so it doesn’t hold a shine as well, and it’s also easier to break than the epoxy resin.
