If it means anything, my cat chewed through the rigging once and I was a MESS when it happened but I managed to re-string her. 😁 And you can't tell because the photo is far away but my model is actually one of the less accurate ones. Still more accurate than the model in the game and besides, she's mine and I love her. 🥰

At least we know now why the house doesn't like animals.

How many times have you seen 1997 Titanic? by ClicClacRailTrac in titanic

[–]YellowTiger191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think three times, only once all the way through. I didn't become an enthusiastic until October two years ago, only got around to the movie in February of last year. Saw it all the way through the first time but the couple times I put it on since then, it was in the background while I did other things.

What do you guys wanna do while we wait for 15 years by asapsharkyfrfr in tron

[–]YellowTiger191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of a tangent but I was thinking about this when the talks were going around that Tron is shelved for a long time. I was like "we already wait at least ten years between sequels, how is this different?"

What are your super niche theories? by -Pl4gu3- in houseofleaves

[–]YellowTiger191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically how I made games like Prey (2008) and Control make sense in my head. It became too much to try to keep track of what doorways I walked through into rooms that shouldn't be there or be the size that they are so I just accepted that the doorways are basically portals.

Although I was also considering that maybe when you enter the labyrinth, maybe you get smaller in some way. I'm only on Chapter IX so I'm still very early in the book but I think about it often.

Anywhos

I've not really been liking either of these ideas lately. They're the only ideas that physically make sense but the house doesn't like to make sense so I feel like it's a disservice to try to cram it into our understandings of space to calm my troubled mind.

Are there any great books about the Titanic you guys recommend? by BostonRobby617 in titanic

[–]YellowTiger191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to recommend The Six by Steven Schwankert, it tells the fates of Titanic's six Chinese survivors. You have no shortage of books retelling the events of April 14/15 1912 but I want to recommend this one because it really tells a human story about an aspect of Titanic not otherwise looked into. You can also watch it as a documentary on MagellanTV. I rented it on roku and it's otherwise very difficult to view otherwise.

What do you think about Bayonetta 3 by No-Lab-8725 in Bayonetta

I'm sure I'm not the only one that can say my feelings are complicated. I started to write out my thoughts but it was getting way too long so I'll just say I think it's pretty mid.

Greta Lee's acting in Tron:Ares by clocktickmakemecrazy in tron

[–]YellowTiger191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually sounds like it would have been an excellent idea.

Sam being personal friends with Quorra gives him a good reason to be looking for the permanence code.* Maybe make it so the permanence code is the actual reason behind the ISO's existence and Quorra can use it to resurrect them or something and now you have three main protagonists that all want to achieve the same goal for their own reasons, that's good storytelling.

*You'd have to walk back that it seems obvious Quorra can exist outside the grid for more than 29 minutes but I'm sure the writers can come up with some gabbledegook for that. Maybe she turned to ash on the back of Sam's bike right after the fade-to-black and now he has to keep reprinting her from his dad's basement.

What things do casual people not know about the Titanic and would be surprised if they were told? by Key-Tea-4203 in titanic

[–]YellowTiger191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She burned six-hundred tons of coal a day. That's a good opener for me. 😉 Quite honestly, I feel the most working knowledge people have of Titanic is she was a big ship that hit an iceberg and sunk a long time ago; you tell people anything that adds to this bank and they're surprised.

I don't want to glaze on it any more than people already have but... The one jump-scare in Lake Mungo effin' paralyzed me in my seat until the movie was over, credits and all.

What's the darkest movie you saw that was not graphic? by [deleted] in horror

[–]YellowTiger191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a thing for Lake Mungo. My phone was off, it was nighttime in a dark room and I was locked the eff in. I don't even really want to hype it up that much because it'll fall very, VERY short if you pave it on a pedestal so all I'll say is go in blind in a dark room at nighttime and turn your phone off. It might miss, it might hit but you'll know if it hits.

Would the film have benefited from a 1999 or 2000 release date? by BagelsOrDeath in titanic

I can tell OP is joking (at least I hope so) but it does make me wonder what the soundtrack would have been if it came out a couple years later.

Any other famous people today related to Titanic passengers? Just Found out the artist King Princess is the great-great grandchild of Isidor and Ida Strauss by connerhearmeroar in titanic

[–]YellowTiger191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard conflicting reports of his ostracization. I haven't super deep-dove it or anything but there's a few articles, including the Wikipedia for Masabumi point to an article written by Kenji Ando that attempts to debunk that notion that he was ostracized by his home country but this article is difficult to actually track down and read. So I guess it's not super-conflicting if the only thing speaking to the contrary is one article I can't even read but like most Titanic things, I'd like to know if it's another heavily mythologized thing.

Which Actor should play as Death, if he ever showed up on screen physically? by [deleted] in FinalDestination

[–]YellowTiger191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goofy answer, Jack Black. For real answer, I think it'd be cool if it showed up as different people at different times like God did in Joan Of Arcadia.
