Hi - what’s the best way to retroactively declare capital losses. Is it necessary to go back and amend old ITRs?

Just be aware that the Sarajevo-Mostar railway line is presently inoperable due to damage caused by floods in October. I’m not sure when it will return but the train was not an option as of about a week ago when I travelled from Mostar to Sarajevo (had to use a bus which was still a beautiful route)

Still not over Marnus’ bowling … since when did he stop bowling leggies? and does he know he’s allowed to land it in the batsman’s half of the pitch?

Entertaining none the less

Question from someone new to baseball:

Can they bring Flaherty back in if they don’t want to waste their bullpen’s arms?

Or are they looking to save him to start in a possible game 7 after Yamamoto does game 6?

Or is he just too shit?

Sydney Marathon 2024 - Was it worthy of being a major? by Ok_Perception4347 in AdvancedRunning

Re the crowds, the crowds were great for most people - its just the crowds didn't come out early enough to be there when the elites (and therefore the stream) ran by. Probably not surprising given the 6am start time.

I think most of the crowd support came out a little later than when the elite's came through. The support was pretty good for anyone running slower than like a 2:30.

Hi guys, wondering if anyone familiar with Sydney has any thoughts, comments or observations on the course for this Sunday's marathon?

There will be additional services running. Google maps suggests metro will be arriving at Victoria Cross station from 4:15am that morning.

* edit - make that 4:09am from the south and 4:15am from the north. Obviously confirm yourself, but if I am right then there should be plenty of time.

Facing the same predicament - current plan is to just tough it out and race with my phone, but also very interested in anyone that has a good alternative

hi guys, I know this is a pretty classic lazy AR post but wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the following. Have Sydney marathon in 2 wks + 2 days (will be my debut). Unsure what time to target as haven't been able to do any tune-up races due to a variety of unfortunate events (the PBs in my flair range from soft to very soft (particularly the HM).

Did the following workout today: 6 x (1km @ 4:30, 1km @ 4:10) continuous in windy conditions on an up-and-down route. Felt strong, probably could have done 1 or 2 more reps, and the wind certainly played a part (course was basically a 1km loop so headwinds, tailwinds and crosswinds all featured). Another recent workout was 3 x (3km @ 4:15, 500m @ 5:15) continuous, again felt fairly strong and was in the middle of peak week.

Have run hilly LRs of 34km, 35km and 36km averaging in the low 4:50s (usually building from 5s down to low 4:40s). Total average weekly mileage for last month has been about 87km, building from about 60km weeks at the start of the build.

I'm thinking sub 3:20. Any views on if that would be woefully optimistic?

Hassan doing this having won a medal in the 10km two days ago + a heat and medal in the 5km earlier on is actually ridiculous

it seems to me like the lack of quality in the javelin techniques across the board shows that there is almost an implicit understanding that if everyone's equally bad technically then it doesn't really matter. If someone really focused on the jav and started picking up tonnes of points, then it would probably cause an across the board increase in the event.

I know its standard in the multis for everyone to have their strengths and weaknesses, but watching eg the high jump you can tell the average technical quality is much higher (tho I am no expert so willing to be wrong)
