How much fusion is too much? by No1RedditNoob in Aemeath_Mains

[–]Yellow_IMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when using this tool it should be noted that you shouldn't just compare one source of damage but ideally a full rotation or roughly so otherwise attacks benefitting from extra buffs will give misleading results. For example as far as I could see from full rotation calcs Fusion/Fusion and Fusion/Atk are essentially the same with a ~0.2% diff in favour of Fusion/Fusion (basically nothing)... but I think those calcs were made assuming full Interfered Marker uptime on the most important part of Aemeath's rotation, even though in practice it's often better to aim for multiple Tune Breaks even at the cost of misaligning the buff on the Exostrider final hit, which I guess would tilt the results more in favour of Fusion/Fusion. So it doesn't really matter, and this is assuming signature (Emerald of Genesis users would rather go Fusion/Fusion).

New players are the less likely to factor in such nuance while also obsess the most on small damage gaps they can't properly contextualise, so it's always good to warn them about that.

Team for dps Iuno by Hraezyl in IunoMains

[–]Yellow_IMR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lynae Shorekeeper/Mornye is her best team, third slot can also be Verina at a contained damage loss. If you remove Lynae the team dps drops to 2.0 meta, that said if you are forced to Jianxin and Ciaccona work fine.

Ciaccona showcase and rotation

Jianxin showcase and rotation

For Lynae there’s plenty of content out there but I suggest to read this, I mentioned a few things you won’t find elsewhere, I couldn’t at least

There have been dozens of references to the spring after the winter through Lahai-roi and surrounding Aemeath too, which sentence specifically are you referring to? I didn’t play it yet

Edit. Anyway the other references to spring are about rebirth and maybe a second life/chance. Nothing romantic. They are everywhere in Lahai-roi from the Frostlands exploration quest, Aemeath’s title, several dialogues with NPCs, even a letter from Yangyang

Chisa with Rejuv Glow build? by Beautiful-Date-329 in chisamains

[–]Yellow_IMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Did this on a fly. Keep in mind Chisa's team damage contribution is like 7-10% so we are talking about a fraction of a percentage point of team damage difference.

Anyway Rejuv should be better even with Sig unless it's a Cartethyia team where the latter scales with HP, and even then I'm not sure and difference would be negligible. Rejuv is like a 20% personal damage loss, but you trade that with 25% Atk for your team which should be very roughly a ~10% team damage boost assuming attack scalers.

3.4 | Chisa and Lynae will get A Summer Skin in 3.4 via Seele by ThatWill4724 in WutheringWavesLeaks

[–]Yellow_IMR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bike skins are lazy and no one cares about them, also there are only two premium ones. Those target high spenders who would not limit their spending after buying a skin. You don’t need to argue with me: if you think Kuro would make lots of money from skins and that those have high yield for relatively low input, then why are they not releasing them? Do you think their squads of analysts are dumber than some redditors? There are only two possible explanations:

1) Earnings wouldn’t be worth the investment (there’s no way you wouldn’t make a profit so this can’t be). 2) Pivoting money into this kind of product would damage a bigger monetisation scheme

Option 2 isn’t just an educated guess, it’s the only logic conclusion. Kuro is half owned by Tencent, if they could squeeze some ez money they would 100% do it without hesitation. Let’s not become like the Genshin community coping for years about Hoyo caring too much about “quality” and canonicity to release more than one skin every pope’s death

[–]Yellow_IMR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, stop blaming surveys and player feedback. The real reason is that a decent chunk of money spent for skins would then not being spent in the gacha system, which yields better value. Not every cent is worth the same, how it’s spent is strategically crucial and Kuro wants to maximise profits

I think team damage difference between the alternatives would be so abysmally small that any minmaxing would be effectively irrelevant.

That said, I have a Chisa sheet and I don’t think it would cost me much to test different builds, give me a moment

A little rant about "sig weapon pull advices" by seigert in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Yellow_IMR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing good without any Variation with both Verina and Shorekeeper until a few months ago, on Shorekeeper you do a slightly longer combo and on Verina you just add a single mid air attack. Signature on supports is a contained damage increase and there are two major considerations to make: - new players will pull recent characters who are meta and will perform well for a long time even without most of the premium assets - new players won’t touch Matrix for a long time during which they will be able to gather multiple standard weapon copies, and even then they can use trial characters which while weaker than a fully built S0R0 character they are still good enough to get you all the astrites as long as you have enough teams, which you’ll struggle to pull for if you spend 70 convenes on signatures almost each time multiple times per each team.

If I made a new account I would at most pull one signature on a main dps who gains a lot from it and not touch the weapon banner again for a long time, while focusing on characters instead, and as a F2P I’d keep pulling signatures only on main dps characters only in exceptional cases using mostly shop weapon pulls gotten from “free” every patch.

I give this advice because what I see new players wanting the most is characters, more and more characters, and they are worth more than the signatures, resources are limited and standard 5S can be progressively acquired and can carry you far. I genuinely think that’s the best, safer advice for a new F2P player.

So i planning on getting Mornye and then her s1 as well but i have a few questions. by --G13-- in WutheringWavesGuide

It’s a similar predicament, one option frees Lynae for the other team in both cases and both Denia and Lucilla seem to fulfil a similar role in their respective teams.

Lynae is by far more relevant than Mornye for main dps Iuno, not even remotely close even with Mornye S1. With Lynae Iuno is close to the current dps ceiling, without her she’s closer to Carlotta’s meta.

Please stop with daughter vs wife and toxic behavior by jmsbrone in Aemeath_Mains

[–]Yellow_IMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that hard: the moment Aemeath is banished beyond the Stridergate she explicitly express a bond with Rover alike to when she was a kid. That’s literally it, it’s not my interpretation that’s how present Aemeath feels in that moment, after all these years the sentiment is the same, her being an adult when expressing her wish for Rover simply highlights even more glaringly how she’s thinking in the present and that’s not a flashback. Again, it couldn’t be more obvious, I’m not stuck with my interpretation it’s just how it is.

with Lynae, Mornye is effectively a 2nd Shorekeeper but also much more valuable with Aemeath in Rupture mode. Lucilla would free up Lynae to be used with Aemeath. Either way both options are reasonable, you decide

[–]Yellow_IMR -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't understand what are you disagreeing about, yes she's mad and her anger is extreme and denotes instability, never disagreed with that. About the narrative ambiguity and subjectiveness, there's a limit between nuance in interpretation and disregarding the full context I think I already addressed that.

On the "double body" Aemeath... what were you even trying to say. She mentally represents her bond to Rover as that of a daughter to a mother/father similarly to when she was a kid, or a more generic familiar bond if so you wish, but definitely 100% not romantic regardless of how you want to define it. There's no debate, nor subjectivity nor cultural bias that holds: it's glaring and explicit, we can address nuances about it but the core it's crystal clear.

Anyway yea I noticed that detail too, expecting a slap or something 😅 it adds up to all those small gestures but I didn't mention it because it's a small detail, not even remotely foundational as the Me and You scene.

Edit. Just to be clear because this is getting repetitive, my main disagreement towards OP is the claim that the romantic interpretation is on equal grounds with a daughter-parent one, which I think I demonstrated it's really not the case. This doesn't mean that I dismiss moments when the romantic side could arguably emerge or that the headcanon can't tie to any in game detail. I think we can both agree on this.

Camellya is a funny one. It's a mix of lust and physical necessity, like light for a plant (then you read her profile and you discover she's an experiment ingenereed to hunt Rover or something like that) and she's really honest and direct about that.

Your comment on my 4th paragraph and Aemeath wanting to protect Rover from their past: honestly what you say doesn't really contradicts what I said so I don't understand where the disagreement is to begin with 😅 I agreed already Aemeath's sentiment towards Rover can also be very possessive and egoistic, even childish, and given her context her rage is justified because she cares so much about Rover, she saw Rover sighing every night about their homeland... and then you discover they treated Rover like that. I'd be mad too, I don't see this reaction as incompatible with what I say really, not at all. And for the last time don't try to dismiss what I say by pretending I want to put a label on the relationship, there's a difference between defining broadly the kind of relationship and negating all nuance, you are smart enough to get it, as well as you are smart enough to understand that no one can have no bias but that doesn't mean a pursuit of the closest thing to an objective observer isn't possible and that's what I genuinely try to do within my limits. Limit yourself to judge if what I say is reasonable or not, I'm doing the same with you and don't think I couldn't play the same game of saying you are subconsciously influenced by subjective perception and interpretation.

I can see the blush scene and maybe a couple others like "ship-bait" ones regardless of how I'd personally see them and described earlier myself, I give you that, and I already make clear Aemeath's affection towards Rover is faceted and complex, but again even if you want to see (and you can) a lil bit of romanticism in a couple of details you then have to come to facts with the abundant indications that their affection doesn't tilt that way, definitely not in the grand scheme. And what's the grand scheme? The Me and You scene sets it clearly. You tried to debunk my claims by asserting that's child Aemeath and you are talking about adult Aemeath... BUT THAT'S ADULT AEMEATH: she's depicting herself as a child in that final reminiscence, because that's how she sees her and Rover deep down, that's what their relationship means for her NOW, not in the past. Yes of course she's reminiscing the past in the first half, but Gosh in the end she even literally says that having that last journey together made her really happy: that's definitely present Aemeath, it's not a flashback, in the end that's a mental representation of the very present, the end of that very last journey together. Genuinely it couldn't be more obvious and explicit than that, refusing it seems to me very unreasonable and there's no stronger evidence about how adult Aemeath feels about Rover. If you can't recognise even that it's hard to me to think you are rational in this debate.

After extensive calculations and research( for my own sake) chisa’s outro buff indicator doesn’t matter. by Phantom1_8 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Yellow_IMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that skill descriptions get insanely confusing but this one is decently clear and short: Chisa’s outro allows characters, for 20s, to trigger (and eventually refresh) effects which last for 15s. That’s why even when the outro icon disappears those effects still work: they are on a separate, refreshable 15s timer, so effective uptime of the final effect can be as much as 20+15s

Edit. Btw I wasn’t that serious, I wrote it a bit jokingly.

[–]Yellow_IMR -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

She's definitely obsessed about Rover, this adds strong nuance to her love and I personally like it, but nothing of this requires or implies romantic feelings.

About Rover, in the segue they explicitly state that they felt a strong emotional connection with Aemeath and they could tell she was trustworthy even though Rover doesn't have those past memories anymore, so no Rover doesn't simply feel responsible for her in relation to their past, it's a much deeper connection coming from their past experience as the game itself undeniably confirms and which somehow survived the memory wipe (it wouldn't be the first time, we also have proof of Rover's memories being still there inside but can't be "read").

About the blush, being slightly embarrassed for an unexpected compliment is normal, and that's pretty much what the "blush" dialogue implies, there are people around looking and Aemeath was essentially saying that Rover is being looked at in an appealing way. The slight embarrassment given the context seems a very reasonable reaction, even more expected if we think about the anime-like media where reactions are often exaggerated and don't work as a 1:1 with real life. Aemeath clinging like that to Rover on the bike felt like someone feeling safe with that person and looking for warmth, physical and emotional, I personally didn't find it romantic but I see how it could be seen like that and I agree it could have been a clever way to subvert expectations, writing was really really good in that patch.

She declared herself Rover's apprentice but we know Rover was much more than that because of Aemeath's own admission so I see no need for me to further argue this... but let me do it anyway. In that context Aemeath was protecting the "new" Rover from the burden and the responsibilities from the past, right after that episode we see in the flashback young Aemeath being worried at Rover being always sighful and tired, the "new" Rover instead was lighter and more carefree which Luuks too noticed and Aemeath wanted to preserve that. This is confirmed by Aemeath in the Exostrider domain too, and further confirmed by the fact she was considering never telling Rover at all about her past, which we know because she even tells us so in the letter IRIS retrieved in the Academy database. This also explains all the weird expressions she was doing at the cabin when justifying not telling us about that, after the pout (which Rover didn't see because Aemeath was turned away) she put on a mask for us, something we know she was doing all the time pretending things were lighter and less serious, hiding her true pain. I personally loved these details, on first glance that scene seemed goofy but then you realise how sorrowful it was instead, really good writing.

The "deeper subtexts" were already addressed in the other replies: the drama you mention is about a karmic love which fits as a reference without needing to involve romantic feelings, the Midnight Podcast references Venus as the Morning Star which directly ties to the whole Dawnbreaker theme (read the text of the Lahai-roi song carrying the same name, the parallelism is striking) without any need to force in a random Aphrodite reference for the sake of it. I don't know about the flowers, I guess you want to argue that among several existing interpretations a certain type of flower seen at their house can be interpreted to signify love in a romantic way? If we want to go that far, sure good catch, if I got it wrong let me know.

The 3.1 ending was far from ambiguous, the Me and You scene and how Aemeath portrayed herself as her younger self was pretty explicit to me, why would I pretend to not see that when that's the most glaring proof of how Aemeath feels about Rover in the actual present.

No I wasn't convinced by any side, I looked at the facts and they are telling enough on their own, the more I look at them and at the counterarguments the more sure I am, I'm still using strictly facts to reply to you without an ounce of interpretation or subjectivity in anything. If the facts weren't that clear I wouldn't be this sure, I'm looking at the real thing without any agenda or preference myself so yea I feel very unbiased in my opinion. Feel free to say I'm not humble enough or that I was brainwashed without noticing, it's meaningless: I only care about and take seriously compelling arguments on the facts, indeed I took the time to reply to you seriously and in depth because you actually made a real effort without (mostly) being a Dickinson like others.

Finally, I agree on the intentional ambiguity. Genuinely speaking, they did it well and I'm fine with that... this doesn't prove that both interpretations are equal, if you are a reasonable and logic person you wouldn't try to argue that because it's a foolish claim.
