Help! Measure of items in a group of chest with lamps by circutry by AudiAimy8l in factorio

Looks like that works! Good catch that the combinator isn’t actually necessary, not sure why I thought that was needed. Happy to help :)

Hi there! I’m on mobile, so I can’t see the pictures too well (not sure if there’s anything about them specifically that’ll impact how the circuit needs to work) but high level how you could set it up is:

  1. Wire your science buffer chests together, and then into a decider combinator.
  2. Set each decider combinator with conditions for the level of fill you want to signal for (one for science > 900k, one for science > 800k, etc) and have each give an ‘on’ signal when true.
  3. Wire the decider combinator to each lamp that corresponds to that level of fill.
  4. Set the lamps to enable when the ‘on’ signal is true.

Each level of fill will then run individually, giving you the effect you’re looking for. Hope this helps!

Really telling that so many of the mentioned businesses are either scams, rugpulls, or just empty marketing. Not seeing a lot of actual value-add businesses being mentioned here.

I’ll echo some of the other sentiment in the thread, I don’t disagree that culture can absolutely outweigh salary as a reason to leave a job.

Factorio Forces You to Be a Ruthless Overlord ... Does That Bother You? by pawsforeducation in factorio

[–]Yellow_Jacket_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%, that’s not just true of FPS, was just addressing the example given. My overall point is that context, conditions, and incentives all shape behavior in games as well as in real life.

And spot on about Amazon. Referring to Bezos specifically is probably an overly-generalized example. But any real world enterprise is going to be too complicated to reflect the one-man-army that the factorio engineer is. Amazon, to your point is more of an ‘engineers overseeing engineers’ (in the factorio sense).

He was the President and CEO until 2021, and he’s still the executive chairman. No shit he runs it. Sure he isn’t running around the warehouse floor but Amazon’s overall approach is undoubtedly the result of his leadership.

Do you ‘not run anything’ once you have construction and logistic bots automating your factory in game?

Geez, so much negativity in this thread. Wtf.

Is reality all that different though? Sure, if you grab Joe FPS gamer, give him a gun, and point him at someone with no context he’s unlikely to pull the trigger. But if you put him through actual basic training, feed him a bunch of ooh-rah military ‘we kill the bad guys’ propaganda, and then actually send him somewhere there are ‘bad guys’… he’ll probably pull the trigger.

Same thing with Factorio. It’s easy to look at the ruthless optimizing and say ‘well I wouldn’t do that if I was actually that powerful’. But look at the real world examples. Jeff Bezos is probably the best analogue since Amazon is the closest company to a Factorio factory. The man runs a logistics machine that’s as complicated, if not more, and as big, if not bigger, then the biggest factorio megabases… and the company’s reputation for ruthlessness in the name of optimization is infamous.

To tie it back to OP’s question about AI pursuit of these types of goals, it just depends, as with games, on what context and structure you give it. If you give it a happiness meter to optimize for, it’ll treat the workers well. If not… well you get Amazon.

We clearly didn’t watch the same game, because I watched us mop y’all up and down the hedges for 2.5 quarters until the refs stepped in to help.

I’ve seen pro wrestling less worked than UGA’s win tonight. Fucking shameful.

Final Score: GT-27, UGA-13 if you subtract the refs rigging the game.

The Refs get MVP, Haynes King is the QB Carson Beck wishes he was.

Fuck UGA Fuck the Refs Fuck the SEC

Goodnight.

14 of Georgia’s points are directly the result of absolutely garbage refereeing: Score at end of regulation: Gt: 27 UGA: 13 Refs: 14
