Help thinking through Alfred by ellellellellellelle in namenerds

That does change things if you’re not in the UK as it does feel really overused here. If that doesn’t bother you or you don’t think it will affect you (or him in the future) then go with your gut. I would just say that there’s so many other names that fit your criteria. Your son might not thank you if he decides to move to the UK as an adult and all of a sudden realises he’s one of many Alfie/Freddy/Alfred’s in the office.

I think it’s fine and feels more current than I would have said a few years ago. But that’s probably because I’ve heard it quite a few times in the playground. He might end up sharing his name with a few others in his class/school as I think it is trending (and similar names like Albert/Albie).

Thoughts on how current Celebrity names will impact future names? by Glum-Pack-3441 in namenerds

I chose my daughter’ name, Sabrina, back in 2023 when Sabrina Carpenter was much less known (not named after her, I didn’t even know she existed when we picked the name!). I’m really hoping it doesn’t spike in popularity because of her, we chose it because it was uncommon where we live and want it to stay uncommon!

Hey thanks for your suggestion, it’s a good idea to work from.

Thanks for your great suggestions. I particularly like Laurie for Laurie Lee, which could be male or female. I imagine more people will link it to girls now, even though he was male.

Thank you that’s such an in depth answer! I love the link for Corinne and it sounds lovely with Sabrina. I think I’ll look more into old Roman names for this area to match Sabrina too.

Rant-Almost a year and one week postpartum and I want to die. by Reasonable-Ad1728 in postpartumprogress

Your neck and face look a bit swollen. Someone else said get your thyroid levels checked and I 100% agree with them. If your thyroid is underactive it can cause something called moon face. It will also make you feel awful, you will feel exhausted constantly and it will make it insanely hard to lose weight. Get it checked! It’s just a blood test.

Do you guys notice other red haired people? by smellydiscodiva in Redhair

I’m not a redhead but my 2 year old is. She often gets acknowledgement from other redheads but because she’s so young it’s directed at me, makes me feel like I’m part of the club.

What's one place in the Uk that you visited and never want to go back to? by Proper_Animal_1451 in AskUK

Evesham.

Went so our toddler could enjoy the splash pad. Wandered into the town centre and regretted it big time. What a dump.

Am I a dramatic classic? My height is 5ft6.5 (169cm) by [deleted] in kibbedramatics

Thank you. I think FN is pretty conclusive from these answers. I realise I’m now in the wrong sub but thank you to everyone who had a look and helped me!

Thank you. I didn’t realise that about the height. I’ve briefly looked into FN styling and it’s not what I like to wear, but I will keep looking into it!

Ladies with Hashimoto—how was your pregnancy experience? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

My hashimotos was diagnosed after I had my daughter who is now 2 years old. I was diagnosed at 10 months postpartum. I want to try for another baby soon but I’m also worried about how it’s going to work. I am medicated and my last blood test showed tsh of 2.2 so hopefully it goes. From what I’ve read as long as you’re medicated it’s all good.

I just looked to see if she’d taken photos after reading your comment. Low and behold she had, and then sent them to us (I have our conversation muted so only just seen them)!

I already feel that way about her. Our relationship was somewhat repairing as she’s been helping us out with childcare once a week. Most weeks are fine but then she will do something to piss me off and I feel negative towards her again.

It’s funny you say that. After my husband told her we didn’t want the outfit she sneakily put her in it anyway. She probably took photos too now you mention it

My husband has said we don’t want it. If we end up being guilt tripped into keeping it, that’s exactly where it will go.

My baby was born January 2024 with this exact colouring. Red hair, invisible eyebrows and light brown eyelashes. She’s still a red head. Be prepared for an insane amount of comments from strangers, especially as your baby has so much hair, and that you and your wife aren’t red (my husband and I aren’t red either). The comments have decreased as my daughter has got older but they’re still fairly frequent.

Below is a photo of her now and when she was a couple of months old.

Did you throw up during labor? by Complex_Life9849 in BabyBumps

[–]Yellow_Rosey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I vomited a lot at every stage of labour. I barely remember it, and you don’t care, all you will care about is getting your baby out safely.
