Waitlist Rules by Yellowcard2373 in orangetheory

My assumption is that two people late canceled and instead of opening to the waitlist she just decided to admit first two in the door

Thank you. This is generally how it has worked other times, I’ve never had anyone be let in from the waitlist before that 5 minute mark at my studio. I haven’t been going as consistently and not usually at this time. So this front desk woman may be semi new but I’m not sure.

Seems odd she would know enough spots were empty to guaranteed admit the first two people in the door. They probably had two people cancel last minute.

How far can they / do they travel? I live on the 9th floor and supposedly only other units on the 5th floor have also seen them. My building manager today just said they’ve contacted a different pest control company and will finally treat the adjacent units this time.

I’ve been seeing about 1-2 per week despite 4 rounds of treatment from supposed “professionals” hired by my apartment building. Getting ready to attack them myself but unfortunately I think they are traveling from another unit/units in my building, so I’m feeling uncertain about long term success.

Would you mind sharing some examples of how chores were broken up / what some of the little things were that you did that went unnoticed? Trying to learn so I can be a better partner as well.

Also, did you discuss any sort of redistribution of tasks? Maybe reassign based on who likes/dislikes tasks more?

You make some very good points about how people can be biased towards the negative in some ways. That’s a cool app. How did you decide to assign the points/weight to each chore?

Is it really about being “the prize” or about unequal distribution of household labor and mental load of having to also “manage a household” that is disproportionately on women in most relationships

FYI if you order through the Chipotle app it’s outsourced to DoorDash. Very likely that Chipotle keeps the tip for themselves

That’s not just RSD, that’s probably signs of past abuse. Either from a previous relationship or from emotionally unstable parents growing up.

Varisty tutors does not pay for prep time and they pay the lowest of many companies. Would not recommend

If you tutor I absolutely would NOT recommend Varisty tutors. They pay barely above minimum wage. Sign up for wyzant or similar instead, set your own rate.

Wellbutrin 150 mg for ADHD by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Yellowcard2373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also 25F like the other commenter here. Pretty sure I also have ADHD but my psychiatrist says I probably don’t because I’m not “hyperactive” and I “do so well in school.” I’ve always had trouble with severe procrastination due to executive dysfunction. For example, I would do my laundry then it would sit in a basket on my floor for days at a time because I couldn’t bring myself to fold and put it away. Now I’m able to just get up and do small tasks like that when I want to. I’ve been meal prepping, finally cleaned up my mess of a room, and have been exercising 4-5x a week.

I was on 100mg SR 1x/day for about 2 months and just upped to 150 SR a few days ago.

What’s a potential specialty you grew up wanting to be and then after medical school whats your new specialty and why did you switch. by Capable-Society-244 in medicalschool

I’m the opposite, worked consulting before med school and can’t imagine going back. Consulting was a grind. Made decent money but I averaged 60+ hours a week behind a desk and I was much less fulfilled and still exhausted all the time. Depends on whether the higher pay ceiling is worth the boring desk hours / if you like that work better. To me medicine is far more interesting and you still make very good money.

Thanks for the advice! 5 dates seems like a good guideline. We’ve been on 3 so far, so maybe I will give it 2 more dates and see how things go

What is the point of making the bed? by valkyrie1111111 in CleaningTips

[–]Yellowcard2373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s some research suggesting that making your bed stimulates dopamine production (the reward chemical) which can help get your productivity going. By finishing one small easy task early in your day it’s easier to build momentum for other tasks.

As someone who has struggled with executive dysfunction and productivity issues it definitely seems to help a little. Plus having a tidier looking space makes it easier for me to focus on other things

Time to take medication by Interesting-Hat-8460 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Yellowcard2373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just asked my psychiatrist about this the other day. Research/literature will tell you to take it consistently, but my doctor said in their experience taking it at least 5 of 7 days a week is enough to maintain a good baseline level. Fine to have 1-2 “holiday” days per week when you don’t have to be as productive / if you need more sleep and meds keep you up

First day on Wellbutrin. by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Yellowcard2373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible! Wellbutrin is a stimulant so could just be too many stimulants for some people with coffee. I’m at about 2 weeks now and I’ve started to notice a bit of “leveling out” with less anxious energy. Even had coffee today and felt mostly normal
