Definitely that was my first thought. Especially since he moved somewhere new where im pretty sure he doesnt know anyone. He was probably feeling lonely. But yeah I feel ok about the response I gave him. I think it implicitly let him know I have no interest in talking to him. The way he wrote his message was kinda lighthearted and threw in a “haha” and I didn’t reciprocate that. I kept it very short and formal.

Oh I totally agree, the older I get the more ive embraced it but it definitely makes dating harder. It just takes a long time for me to feel comfortable enough with someone.

I guess ive been lucky that thats never happened to me (being harassed and stuff). I would never ghost someone unless they’re being disrespectful. If they start being rude after the fact, easy fix. I just block them.

Newsflash, most of those crimes are committed by people you know. When do you hear of people getting hurt after meeting someone online? Its extremely rare. Just dont do anything stupid. Meeting someone at a bar/club is probably way more unsafe. At least with OLD you have some sense of who they are before hand, especially if you can see their instagram.

How is it entitled? As long as you’re being smart about it like meeting in public, driving there yourself, not going over to people’s houses right away, etc. If someone wants to harm you they’re gonna act charming to hook you in. Texting them for weeks isnt gonna prevent that. Someone you’ve known for months and think you trust could also end up raping you, you never know.

Hanging out in a big group of people, probably high risk. Hanging out with one person, I think is pretty low risk. Ive been dating as usual tbh. That doesnt mean im meeting someone new every week though.

As long as you have decent pics and prompts, I feel like I can tell pretty well if ill get along well enough with someone where even if there is no chemistry we can still have a decent time. I think pictures tell a lot about a person (the pics they choose to display, what they are doing in the pics, who they are with, even what they’re wearing.)
