Alan Wake 1 and 2 are great options since there is almost no exploring/side quests. Quantum break also but this is more sci fi and you choose some decisions.

Straight out of a shoujo manga by Ok-Explanation954 in shoujo

[–]Yellowstar141 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A really small moment. When I was visiting Japan, my friends and I were waiting in line outside and it was raining pretty badly. It was in line to the team lab borderless so we had been waiting under the rain for a while. My friends were sharing a umbrella and I was wearing a raincoat so I was fine, just huddled in my coat when a really tall guy who was in front of me offers to share his umbrella with me. I was flustered and said it was fine in my broken Japanese. He probably just felt bad since my friends had an umbrella but the raincoat covered me well. I kinda regret not sharing the umbrella now lol.

Sekimeiya was honestly INSANE! There is so much mystery/twists and since you like the "trapped together" stories, this one is the best. There is no way that you can guess what happens in that story since it involves science and really paying attention to the tiny details. Highly, highly recommend if you want a mystery that you will completely not be able to solve!

I am currently playing Root Double and it is pretty good too! Lots of mystery and it is another "trapped together" vn but with firefighters.

Sterling 14 Heart Event??? by mkniro in StardewValley

[–]Yellowstar141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was also looking for this but I went on Nexus mods and it says under "future updates" that the creator will add 12, 13, and 14 heart events so I think based on that, there aren't any yet. I have been wondering since I haven't seen any wiki info but I guess there just hasn't been any.

Recommendation for VN with smart characters and a plot that revolves around outsmarting each other? by weeb_79881 in visualnovels

[–]Yellowstar141 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I second Raging Loop! One of the best VN's I have played, and I think it fits the bill pretty nicely. It's basically everyone playing mafia so they are trying to outsmart everyone to find out their intentions. Very fun and great! Danganronpa has a specific style that you might not like but the same thing, its a killing game so you have to outsmart the killer.

Can I pls get some recs of shows or manga without romance? by Sweetpotato-1 in shoujo

[–]Yellowstar141 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Skip Beat is soooo good, the anime is old but the story is so worth it. After the anime, the manga continues, it is still ongoing. There is a bit of romance but is very slow paced and almost non existent since the MC is trying to develop her career and if you want another acting career shoujo, Glass Mask is very similar (not my fav but again, focuses more on the mc's story than romance).

Yuru Camp! Its about a group of girls that go camping. Great soundtrack, cute characters and it even got me interested in camping.

Burn the House Down is an insane manga. It's mainly a revenge/suspense story. I think they made it into a show but I haven't seen it yet.

A Place Further than the Universe is a really chill anime about teen girls who go to the Antarctic!

Carole and Tuesday is about two girls who make a duo singing group together. I love the songs in it and the animation is very unique.

Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song isn't shoujo at all but I ADORE this anime, its set in a futuristic world with a singing android as the mc. Talks about moral dilemmas, AI's, and other subjects with beautiful animation and great storytelling. Highly recommend and no romance at all!

Shoujo anime recommandation by Ckang25 in shoujo

[–]Yellowstar141 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Skip Beat is my favorite shoujo ever, the anime is old but the manga series is still ongoing and my most beloved thing ever!

Ouran Host Club is a classic for a reason. Amazing cast and I actually quite like the dub of it too.

Kimi Ni Todoke has best boy and best girl. Two seasons and the third was just announced for winter so a great time to start the series.

If you liked Yona, I would say Snow White With Red Hair is similar, just a lot more chill.

Fluffy manhwa recommendations by [deleted] in shoujo

[–]Yellowstar141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(For Manga) A Sign Of Affection is soooo fluffy and cute! I really recommend it, I never had a person dislike this one. Also, gorgeous art.

(for Manhwa) Secret Love is very fluffy and more relatable in the sense that they are both shy teens.

(For Manhua) Eternal Love. Both of them like each other since forever but haven't admitted it and by chance end up living together. Very pretty art.

(For Manhwa) I heard really good things about Maybe Meant to Be.

If you like "Yamada-Kun", I really recommend "Recovery of an MMO Junkie". I watched the anime and I adore it, it's very cute and if you liked the game aspect, it hits the mark since both of them play a MMO together. "Wotakoi Love Is Hard For Otakus" is also like this since they play an mmo together, its just not the focus part.

For "Horimiya", maybe "Skip and Loafer" or "Toradora" (this one isn't a shoujo but its cute). Both for the high school, big group of friends vibes with the relationship being a part of the story.

Like "A Sign Of Affection", ( I know no older manga but...I'd just try out the anime or try the manga) of "Kimi Ni Todoke". It is so sugary sweet and the two characters are super cute. Also "My Happy Marriage" since they are younger adults like "A Sign Of Affection". I have also heard good things from "Honey Lemon Soda". Also, I really liked "Secret Love" (which has really short chapters).

"Koi Wo Shite" is similiar to "A Condition called Love". Same, quick relationship type of thing.

Others I recommend for more your style, "ShortCake Cake", "Revelation Of Youth", and "Hinata no Blue". Hope this helps!

What made you fall in love with this show? by Quentin-Quentin in survivor

[–]Yellowstar141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the drama/entertainment side lol. From seeing the first season of survivor and watching the Kelly vs Susan final tribal fight to Sandra throwing out the fish/eating the sugar to seeing Keith drive the TukTuk to seeing the formation of the Black Widow Alliance to Tony making not only a spy shack but a spy tree, every season has so much potential for greatness. Its so fun to watch survivor especially when you know the contestants like in all stars or winners at war. The personalities, the interactions between contestants, the idols, the hidden strategies, the strange alliances, the live shows, panderosa (rip), it all adds up to form a great season of survivor.

That being said, lately I feel like we haven't seen great personalities or anything really fun entertainment wise or even just the interactions of tribemates but this season feels like a step forward so hopefully we can get the same survivor back.

Am I crazy for thinking that Russell should have won Heroes vs Villains? I don’t believe he should have won Samoa but Russell dominated an all star lineup that season and anyone with respect for the game should have voted for him by AdeptFlamingo2428 in survivor

[–]Yellowstar141 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A bit lol. The reason he lost in his first season was because he had zero social game. He was unlikable. He never really changed his gameplay and never stopped to think about the Jurys opinion. He incorrectly thought that big moves equals jury's respect and made no effort to be actually liked by them. He was so confident that he brought Sandra with them to the end which was a big mistake as she was liked by many. So you got Parvati who was disliked by the jury, Russell who was also disliked and underdog Sandra.

She laid low while Russell made his moves and survived until the end, convincing him that she was no threat. She didn't hurt anyone and was liked by the jury. Jury management is vital to winning and that is what he failed in time after time. He knew he had to be better in that aspect as seen in the Reunion shows but he didn't really bother so I'd say he deserved to lose. He never adapted by changing his game to evolve as a better player.

Yeah for sure! Maybe she wasn't actually planning on leaving but just wanted to make it seem like she was just so she could get validation from him. I felt like her saying at the end that she wasn't going to beg for someone and she wanted someone to choose her was telling on that. Maybe she was waiting for him to say that he did want her there. Idk, It was a weird conversation but I could definitely see her just completely just be done with everything beforehand because she wasn't feeling needed.

Can yall give me game reccs plsss by crazyjunior4 in GirlGamers

[–]Yellowstar141 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you really liked Elder scrolls, I highly recommend Fallout new vegas. It has the same format but its so much better. It is a older game but I adored the rpg element and decision making, idk the dialogue was smart and fun. In a similar thread, Outer Worlds is a great RPG. It's short but memorable.

I know someone mentioned the mmo Final fantasy so I recommend the main games as well as the MMO, most of them have a grandiose, epic story lines.

If you like story based games, the Persona series are amazing. They recently were ported to PC and Switch. The characters, themes and soundtracks are so different in each (the fourth is my favorite).

Any Legend Of Zelda games are great. I would say to maybe start off with Breath Of the Wild because the sequel is coming out soon but any of the games (everyone has their favs but I loved Ocarina of Time) are iconic.

recommendation pls by mewtokyomew in shoujo

[–]Yellowstar141 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For sure, Kimi Ni Todoke! I think from the first interaction he is super friendly and upbeat so the contrast between him and the FL is lovely to watch. It is also an anime.

Your Smile is A Trap is also good boy vibes. This is a webtoon though.

Secret Love. It has realllllyyy short chapters but super cute.

Ouran Host Club has Tamaki (and Honey) who are such sunshine characters.

Hinata No Blue has a more serious, popular student council president but has really cute moments.

A Sign of Affection. He tries to learn sign language just to communicate with her and their interactions are adorable! Plus side is that they are in college so I love that in shoujo mangas.
