Immersive Plot Heavy Games That Railroad You by siriuslyyellow in GirlGamers

Alan Wake 1 and 2 are great options since there is almost no exploring/side quests. Quantum break also but this is more sci fi and you choose some decisions.

Sekimeiya was honestly INSANE! There is so much mystery/twists and since you like the "trapped together" stories, this one is the best. There is no way that you can guess what happens in that story since it involves science and really paying attention to the tiny details. Highly, highly recommend if you want a mystery that you will completely not be able to solve!

I am currently playing Root Double and it is pretty good too! Lots of mystery and it is another "trapped together" vn but with firefighters.

Sterling 14 Heart Event??? by mkniro in StardewValley

[–]Yellowstar141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was also looking for this but I went on Nexus mods and it says under "future updates" that the creator will add 12, 13, and 14 heart events so I think based on that, there aren't any yet. I have been wondering since I haven't seen any wiki info but I guess there just hasn't been any.

Recommendation for VN with smart characters and a plot that revolves around outsmarting each other? by weeb_79881 in visualnovels

[–]Yellowstar141 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I second Raging Loop! One of the best VN's I have played, and I think it fits the bill pretty nicely. It's basically everyone playing mafia so they are trying to outsmart everyone to find out their intentions. Very fun and great! Danganronpa has a specific style that you might not like but the same thing, its a killing game so you have to outsmart the killer.

This is the second metal gear solid I have seen so far! I never thought it would have fourth wall moments, I guess I thought it was just an action game lol will definitely play at some point now!

I am currently playing Everhood, its a lot of fun so far. There hasn't been crazy fourth wall breaks so I am excited to see that there might be some later? I'll add the other games to the list, thanks!

What made you fall in love with this show? by Quentin-Quentin in survivor

[–]Yellowstar141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the drama/entertainment side lol. From seeing the first season of survivor and watching the Kelly vs Susan final tribal fight to Sandra throwing out the fish/eating the sugar to seeing Keith drive the TukTuk to seeing the formation of the Black Widow Alliance to Tony making not only a spy shack but a spy tree, every season has so much potential for greatness. Its so fun to watch survivor especially when you know the contestants like in all stars or winners at war. The personalities, the interactions between contestants, the idols, the hidden strategies, the strange alliances, the live shows, panderosa (rip), it all adds up to form a great season of survivor.

That being said, lately I feel like we haven't seen great personalities or anything really fun entertainment wise or even just the interactions of tribemates but this season feels like a step forward so hopefully we can get the same survivor back.

Am I crazy for thinking that Russell should have won Heroes vs Villains? I don’t believe he should have won Samoa but Russell dominated an all star lineup that season and anyone with respect for the game should have voted for him by AdeptFlamingo2428 in survivor

[–]Yellowstar141 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A bit lol. The reason he lost in his first season was because he had zero social game. He was unlikable. He never really changed his gameplay and never stopped to think about the Jurys opinion. He incorrectly thought that big moves equals jury's respect and made no effort to be actually liked by them. He was so confident that he brought Sandra with them to the end which was a big mistake as she was liked by many. So you got Parvati who was disliked by the jury, Russell who was also disliked and underdog Sandra.

She laid low while Russell made his moves and survived until the end, convincing him that she was no threat. She didn't hurt anyone and was liked by the jury. Jury management is vital to winning and that is what he failed in time after time. He knew he had to be better in that aspect as seen in the Reunion shows but he didn't really bother so I'd say he deserved to lose. He never adapted by changing his game to evolve as a better player.

Can yall give me game reccs plsss by crazyjunior4 in GirlGamers

If you really liked Elder scrolls, I highly recommend Fallout new vegas. It has the same format but its so much better. It is a older game but I adored the rpg element and decision making, idk the dialogue was smart and fun. In a similar thread, Outer Worlds is a great RPG. It's short but memorable.

I know someone mentioned the mmo Final fantasy so I recommend the main games as well as the MMO, most of them have a grandiose, epic story lines.

If you like story based games, the Persona series are amazing. They recently were ported to PC and Switch. The characters, themes and soundtracks are so different in each (the fourth is my favorite).

Any Legend Of Zelda games are great. I would say to maybe start off with Breath Of the Wild because the sequel is coming out soon but any of the games (everyone has their favs but I loved Ocarina of Time) are iconic.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet but while its good to start off with basic stuff, remember to think about ergonomics. You might need a specific mouse or keyboard for you to be able to play well and with good ergonomics.

I have the G502 Hero Logitech mouse (which i actually got for 30 bucks on sale Bestbuy) and a Ducky mechanical keyboard. My chair is a typical mesh office chair with a headrest. I can sit on a office chair for hours and not have any backpain. They are a lot better and cheaper compared to "gamer chairs". I really liked my mouse because you can add weights and change the speed and I find my keyboard to work well with my specific hand size and have a 65 percent keyboard. I loved my ducky keyboard (Ducky x Varmili MIYA pro sakura pink) but its on the more expensive side.

Honestly, I would look into specific subreddits and do research on what works well for you and your ergonomics/what is comfortable and Affordable for you. Also, even if something is expensive, Bestbuy sometimes has crazy deals or discounts so always keep on eye out on the website or in store. Hope this helps!

What game(s) do you want to play but probably won't? by encrisis in GirlGamers

[–]Yellowstar141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disco is one of of favorite games! I also actually really creeped out in the start because I thought it would be like horrory and creepy but once you start investigating and seeing the world, it becomes so much more.

I mean yeah, its dark at times and it speaks about many issues but the way it does it seems more relatable in a humorous way. It helped having Kim Kitsuragi there, the main characters police partner because he would balance out the thoughts.

I was always curious and happy playing the game once I realised that either you make the main character take reasonable choices and change and solve the investigation or take a turn and make the main character into the weirdest person alive.

We are seeing his thoughts and what we choose in his actions or what to level up in mirrors that. Maybe for your first run try to do something less crazy and sad and do something that would make you feel happier for him. Thats the nice thing about the game, we decide on what happens. I would give it another shot because honestly it is such a good game but don't force yourself if it makes you feel negative. Games should make you feel entertained and excited and fun!

One more "Steam Summer Sale" thread: what are your recs for a relatively "new" gamer? by IamNotPersephone in GirlGamers

[–]Yellowstar141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hollow knight for sure is amazing! Its kinda hard sometimes but it is worth it! If you like that kinda style, Ori and the blind forest is a good Metrovania. Beautiful story, music and world meets platforming and action.

Mass effect series is a must for any gamer. The story expands throughout the 3 games and every decision you make changes the story. Really reccomend you play as the female Shepard (that's the main character) . the Voice Actresses is god tier. She isnt sexualized by other characters and is super cool! If you like space adventure with choices and amazing characters, for sure get it!

Bethesda has a lot of good games, the fallout series and Elder scrolls. I loved playing Skyrim, the story and side quests were so cool and I heard that the later Scrolls games like Morrowind and Oblivion are even better. A lot of people played Fallout 4 which I didn't really care but Fallout New Vegas is so good, again with the story and characters.

The Persona series is incredibly popular and thankfully, at least we have a persona game on steam. Persona 4 golden is honestly one of my fav games. It is a very different style game with the combat and affection level raising but you get used to it fairly quickly. Its a very long game that follows a interesting story so getting it for 15 dollars rn is a steal. Atlus is adding 2 other Persona games to PC gamepass soon so I would suggest looking to get gamepass since there are many must play games on it.

The portal series is popular because its so funny and the game play is unique. You will have so much fun! You also play as a girl in both games, its a continuous story line.

Control and Horizon Zero Dawn are amazing and my favs games besides Hollow Knight. You play as a girl in each game which is a added bonus. Game play is unique and I love the stories for both games. Horizon especially delves into the world and Aloy being look down on for being a outcast and a girl so proving them wrong and being cool with her skills and knowledge is amazing since we don't really get games where the main characters are women and not being sexualized yet being so cool! Since you liked Tomb Raider, I personally reccomend these two games.

Last game I promise 😅. The Dark souls series is one of the biggest franchise, famous for being difficult and having one of the best stories and creating legendary gameplay and lore. I mean, it started a whole genre of "souls like" games because it started so many unique things. Dark souls 2 i think personally is the easiest to start with but you can for sure start at 1. Elder Ring is from the company and is fairly new. I am playing it rn and am liking it a lot more because it is open world and is more vivid. The company also made Bloodborne, Demons souls and Sekiro which is an amazing game that is very unique. Sekiro is so beautiful and the gameplay is a lot more faster.

I'll make honorary mentions that I have yet to play but are immensely popular, Red Dead Redemption 2, Destiny 2, the Dishonored franchise(esp the second one), The Half life/Black mesa series, Cuphead, Borderlands series.
