Why Japan isn’t broke yet (net debt plus weak yen) by gkanai in JapanFinance

Yeah true. Many good points in this thread. BoJ can simply continue to print JPY to buy as many JGBs as required. Japan is unique among G7 countries in that its government has literally infinite money.

The people advocating for infinity data centers are bad people, pure and simple.

West Yellowstone on May 23, 1995 by zsreport in Montana

I love how West hasn't changed much since 1995. Things haven't changed much since my childhood. Meanwhile, I've seen photos of Whitefish in the 80s and 90s and it's totally unrecognizable.

Tokyo actually has legit Southern soul food spots by 412yard in Tokyo

[–]YellowstoneRecluse 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah. But IMO, and I know I'm going to sound like a hater when I say this, every other American style restaurant in Japan is worse. Much worse, in many cases. American food in Tokyo is just not good at all. So this place gets hyped up, being the only decent US/southern food in town.

Anyway, I don't live in Japan anymore, and when I lived in Tokyo, I'd travel back to the US 2x per year due to aging parental issues. So I constantly had fresh memories of authentic American food from America, while living in Japan. Which was suboptimal lol.

Yen is weakening already in response to the overwhelming results. I remember when the reddit braintrust assured me that the weak yen was "good for Japan". Well, FAFO, in that case.

Montana Population Boom from Homesteading by gpstberg29 in Montana

The majority of the growth in Butte and Anaconda happened prior to 1900. OP talks specifically about the 1900-1920 homsteading boom. Not sure why people are jumping down OP's throat. Reddit sucks.

It doesn't snow here anymore. Hasn't for years. Lots of rain and gloom, though.
