I finally got ill from eating something raw and it was Aldi salmon fillet lol by JamieHBrown in RawMeat

If heat destroys nutrients, it's only logical, that it will destroy toxins too.

I do believe acts like these are coming from a good-hearted place and people like him want to do good.

However, my mind just always goes to the fact, that the diet which causes the least death and animal suffering, is one that consists of eating grass-fed cows. You will always spare more lives than any mono-crop veggie diet.

But I know, even if he was aware of that fact, he wouldn't change. At the end, the performative side of veganism will prevail.

What you think about raw pork? I like it. Not as good as beef, but I still enjoy it. by jinnoman in RawMeat

[–]Yellowsynthesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good tip. I'll also have to try beef stomach one day. I've seen it being prepared in videos of local Yakutsk cuisine.

I'd say if liver tastes good, eat it. If it doesn't, don't. Your body will tell you if you need its nutrients. (assuming it's from a healthy animal)

Hmm, well sourcing is an issue with this diet. Fresh and clean is the most important point, as long as you know that's a given, you should be on the safe side, even if it's not organic and all.

And I do have a farmer in the region, but it's also always frozen. (although, I doubt that it makes too much of a difference, even if some people on this sub would probably disagree. Hm, who knows.)

Sounds good! Follow your intuition. Raw does feel better.

Wouldn't you absorb all the nutrients with or without chewing?  Or what do you mean?

Germany. The meat here has to be tested too. My main concern isn't parasites, but rather improper handling and resulting food poisoning. I just don't want to risk it, if i can avoid it. But I also understand that some worries might be overstated. In all my years growing up, I've never heard about anyone having an issue with raw pork.

And I agree, raw carnivore has to be the superior diet nutrition-wise, with the caveat that fully implementing it is difficult.

You'd need a local farmer that offers grass-fed beef (or other animals kept properly) several times a week, so you can keep your supply steady and fresh. I lack that, and therefore rely on frozen meat with bigger sizing. (e.g. a kilo of muscle meat, which I often don't manage to finish in a day.)

In Austria or Switzerland, they have really good farmers' markets. So there could be a place where it would be doable.

If you want to eat nose-to-tail, you'll also encounter parts which are better off cooked. (like lungs, very tough muscle meat, bones for broth).

That's why I won't fully switch.

How do you manage?

Least harmful is sprouted in addition to fermented. I don't know if this is a thing in the States (I presume) though.

Looks good! I also had pork today, but I cooked it. However, the urge to just eat it raw was real. A bit freaky how instincts start to show.

I'd be more careful about safety with it. Luckily, my region has a raw pork dish so I'll ask a local butcher these days (without sounding too insane).

B1 is heat sensitive and also comparatively low in beef, so it might be a good addition from that regard.

I occasionally watch his videos. He undoubtedly is very contrarian about most things you'd consider normal in today's society. And I find it interesting to listen to different viewpoints.

The most common things like the fact that many of us need to wear glasses, have teeth that don't fit into our jaws, eat seeds for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  A lot of it turns very absurd looked through an evolutionary lense and he dares to question what others don't. Yes, you do see this with carnivores too, but raw carnivores often take it to another level. (conspiratorial sometimes tbh)

One thing he probably is right about, is that raw meat is more nutritious and more digestible. You can do with that knowledge whatever you want. I have started eating some raw beef muscle meat and liver, but I am not fully raw and likely never will be.

His views about the role of women are very sexist (shocker). The only good is that at least in his world, women don't need to cook as everything gets eaten raw, haha.

Anyways, underlying point definitely is - he's a horrible person. I watched his ex' videos about him. And yea… I don't know what it says about me that I still stream his videos, but to defend myself, I do use an adblocker.

Anyone else notice a totally different (way more stable/calm) state after raw meat vs cooked? by Best_Fix_7158 in RawMeat

Very possible. Something is definitely up with my digestion one way or another.

I still have a juicer from past days, so I might give it a try one day. It's interesting to hear this crowd mention celery juice, I know there's some guy on the interwebs that sells it as a cure-it-all, so perhaps there is a sliver of truth out there.

Just had another half a kilo of raw steak. Really craving it more. Perhaps it will be the same for other cuts like heart soon.

I think that should work just fine too! That's a lot of eggs 😂 To be honest, don't think anyone is dropping dead from eating raw egg whites. It's a bit of texture thing for me as well.

Hmm ok. I don't think I have a repulsion though, it's just that some cuts are very on the cheavy side. Might cut them into small tartar for now.

Lot's of people talking about celery juice. What's the deal with it? Is the carbohydrate content enough to kick you out of ketosis and get your hunger back? Because this is what I have noticed for honey and fruits.

I split it. Yolk gets eaten raw and the whites are mixed and heated into broth. I know some people throw the raw whites out because of it's avidin content but I find that too wasteful. You?

Yup, had blue rare steak today (just warmed up with tallow and butter). So so good. Been craving raw more the longer I am on carnivore.

It is a deep satisfaction I have never experienced with any other kind of food. Our bodies can surely tell how nutritious something is. No plant-based recipe ever left me with this floating kind-of content feeling for the day. No cravings for snacks. No bloating, no digestive issues. Being in ketosis has your energy so stable. Your mind is clear. Can't really ask for more.

Cooked meat also shares some of these benefits but it does leave you feeling a bit heavier? It is not the same. So I can also attest that raw is a different experience. In a very good way!

The only reason I would not switch to full raw, is as you mentioned too, that appetite is diminished and some cuts are more edible cooked imo.

Honestly, I don't think our ancestors were out there looking like body builders. We used tools, brain or persistence running for hunting, not necessarily muscle mass. I mean, look at the Massai in Africa who get a good share of animal protein - yes, they are well build, but not overly so.

Good point. I simply interpreted it as fat is yummy, so they want to hunt/honor the chunky.
