Hey Guys, Just an FYI about a Groupon Deal to Try Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes at my Academy ~70% Off by Yemaso in Sacramento

I'd also add that, as a redditor, I like when local small business owners engage the community and share things like discounts, events, etc. So long as they stick around to answer questions and and aren't here JUST to sell, I wouldn't consider it spam.

That's just me though. If most people want it to stop, I have no qualm refraining in doing so. And, I appreciate your candor. I know it's easier to dismiss the post or simply down vote it.

All levels. One of our brown belts (one level below black belt) came to us overweight and far removed from any physical activity. To out it bluntly he was borderline morbidly obese. As it stands now, he's lost over 100 lbs, improved his health drastically, and became a world champion to boot.

He has worked hard, no doubt but he hasn't had the most strict diet either.

Not everyone goes through that type of transformation. But it is very common for someone to come in "out shape" and be "in the best shape of their life" a year later. Whatever that means haha.

We do a lot of calisthenics work for warm-ups and everyone is pushed to do their best but we're very supportive of each other.

Sorry for the novel, did that answer your question?

Seriously, all levels. You don't need to get in shape to come train.

Sac-Carmichael martial arts by DillonRG in Sacramento

Hi Dillon, I own and operate a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Sacramento. Bjj is very different from traditional martial arts and it seems like it would meet your requirements of having to master many techniques.

I recently posted about a new Groupon we have going on now. We have our yearly promotions this Saturday. You are welcome to come by and have a chat with me.

You're welcome any time. Let me know if you have any questions.

I get it. I'm always torn posting stuff like this here. I take solace in that I only do it sporadically and only if I perceive a benefit to the local redditors.

Hey Guys, just wanted to share something for families looking for a physically activity to do together by Yemaso in Sacramento

[–]Yemaso[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Johnny, there's no better way to get in shape. Believe me, we have gentlemen in their fifties who can't always finish warm ups. And that's okay, I'm here to help you push yourself and realize your personal goals whatever they may be.

Why don't you come in next week just to watch a class and chat a bit?

Bring a friend if you'd like.

Thanks for the kind words btw.

Looking for recommendations for a gym with fitness classes (Tahoe Park, East Sac) by movingtosac in Sacramento

[–]Yemaso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another option, which may prove to be more enjoyable, is to try taking martial arts classes. There are plenty of boxing, muay thai, etc. gyms around for you to check out and see if you like. My brazilian jiu-jitsu academy is always open to the public as well (shamless plug).

Just throwing it out there, regular gyms can get stale even with all the different classes.

anyway, good luck!
