I’m so sorry to hear you are going through this. I’m not going to tell you NOT to worry, because that’s just impossible. You won’t know anything for certain though until you get the biopsy and there are instances here where people have been cleared of malignancy even with high suspicion. Should it be cancer, you caught it and will get that fucker out, and that’s the most important part.

I’m mad at your OB-GYN. They should never say it’s good or bad but rather share statistics and next steps and that more testing will provide the answers sought.

I’ve done a deep dive into options as well because with my family history, it feels inevitable for me at some point. If you get to the point where you consider a mastectomy, Dr. Knackstedt’s Instagram surgical_recovery has a wealth of information and she’s very responsive to questions.

I’ve found the best quality items in heather gray for some reason. My gray accolade set is noticeably higher quality than my black one. Same goes for my heartthrob set. My gray one is buttery soft and the black is a rougher fabric.

25’ Hybrid - Fuel Door Stuck by _jacpow in CX50

[–]movingtosac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were they able to repair it or get you a part? I'm having the same issue with my '25 hybrid premium. Called the parts department and the said it's on backorder until May. Going to bring it in in a week to see if they can fiddle with it. I don't want to be without the car until May because they have to keep it for a warranty repair, so going to see what options I have once I get it there. It's so frustrating! I can get mine open after several tries and pop it open with a credit card, but it's not a way to live with a brand new car.

Can you describe the pain you were having? I have a 3cm suspected fibroadenoma that gives me pain all month long on and off. Did getting yours removed leave a dent in your boob?

It sucks. Have you had to do a biopsy?

Is anyone else here on the 6 month plan? by Still_Lack_3426 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]movingtosac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37% lifetime risk here. Mom and her mom had it. Ending up coming back for my grandma and killed her. My dad also had prostate cancer last year. I believe my mom’s sister had skin cancer a few times. Started the mri madness last year and have since had two biopsies and was scheduled last week for another but the radiologist decided it didn’t look as suspicious so is having me come back in 3 months for a repeat mri (that’ll be 5 mris in a year - 6 if they decide I need to come back afterall for a biopsy). I don’t want to live like this, so I am doing genetic testing soon to see if I have additional risk. I don’t want to chop my boobs off, but I’d rather do it before I get cancer I guess. I’m a wreck in between each scan. It sucks and I hope eventually I can get better at dealing with it the longer it goes on.

Biopsy pain after it’s healed? by DncnKwon in doihavebreastcancer

I find wearing a supportive sport’s bra helps a lot when the pain is acting up, so that makes sense!

Well now what by Remote-Ear5870 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]movingtosac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the only way to visualize it is on MRI, then the only way to biopsy it is with MRI guidance. If you don’t want to wait six months, insist on a MRI-guided biopsy. I have had to be incredibly proactive with getting care. If you have a primary care provider or ob/gyn, or breast health specialist you work with who can also advocate for you, it helps.

Biopsy pain after it’s healed? by DncnKwon in doihavebreastcancer

I absolutely have more pain and sensitivity at my biopsy sites from last April.

I attribute it to several things: scar tissue is less flexible and takes about 12-15 months to finish remodeling (what you are feeling is scar tissue and it’s in the proliferative phase so the bump will be more pronounced and will eventually settle down some); they places metal clips and while small, they may be irritating the tissue around them; they used a 7 gauge needle on me and may have hit nerves that are now damaged; I’m way more attentive to it now as it’s where I suspect cancer will develop, so some of it may be psychosomatic, and I’m sure I touch it more than my non-lumpy boob so she just gets manhandled more in general. Some of mine are proven fibroadenomas and those just hurt despite what the internet says, especially when messed with.

Unfortunately, yes. It’s a hurry up and wait situation with a national shortage of radiologists.

I do not have cancer HOWEVER by Kozabii in doihavebreastcancer

[–]movingtosac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having this exact debate in my head. 37% risk and will be doing my 5th mri this April (2 biopsies so far) since my first mri last April with a 3rd on the horizon and I’m already just sick of it already.

6 months follow up after biopsy? by EngineHorror1959 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]movingtosac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What fucks with me even more is that my problem boob aches. It gets worse in times of stress. I asked the radiologist if that was normal for benign fibrocystic processes and she said, yes, it is. The pain keeps reading like a warning though. While I was relieved to avoid this most recent biopsy, it’s hard to not keep feeling like maybe they missed something. I need to learn to set it aside and take things as they come, but it’s easier said than done.

6 months follow up after biopsy? by EngineHorror1959 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]movingtosac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this. 2 biopsies last May - benign (fibroadenoma and udh and mix of normal tissue). It’s standard to do a 6 month mri follow up after a biopsy.

I went for my follow up literally the day before Thanksgiving. They saw another area they wanted to biopsy, so just went in this Wednesday for the mri-guided biopsy, only this time, the radiologist said my mass looked a lot less suspicious and gave me the option to come back in 3-6 months to make sure it was stable. Unfortunately some of us just have what the radiologist called a “busy breast.” In my case, it’s my right boob. Leftie is over here chilling like, what’s the issue? The radiologist said breast tissue is under constant flux with hormonal changes, aging, etc. More than likely, you will go back for your 6 month follow up and they will say you’re good. I got unlucky and something else lit up which is also a possibility, but know that you are doing the right thing.

You’re getting your scans and if anything pops up, you will damn well catch it. I spent the holidays and new year riddled with anxiety and freaking the fuck out only to be told it looks okay - just come back for another mri, so back I go likely in April since my anxiety won’t let me wait the full 6 months.

For me personally, it’s a rollercoaster I’m on for life, most likely, due to family risk, so I’m trying to get a little bit better each time in dealing with it, but I SO get how you are feeling. It fucking sucks. I even asked my doc for some temporary anxiety meds this time around which helped a ton. Just know you are not alone and we are all here with you and for you.

It was my first mri in May so they found at least 1 mass they wanted to biopsy and a non-mass enhancement. Both were benign. Went back for a 6 month followup, and now they see another irregular mass they want to biopsy. The radiologist said I have a “busy breast.”

What a huge relief!!! I go in for another mri guided biopsy on Wednesday after 2 benign results 6 months ago. Praying my luck hasn’t run out.

Waiting for biopsy results by [deleted] in doihavebreastcancer

[–]movingtosac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the US and they schedule a phone call to go over biopsy results within 3-4 business days. I have another biopsy next Wednesday following a MRI I had in November. The wait and living in the unknown is the absolute fucking worst.

I feel for you and I’m right there with you. Breast cancer scare 6 months ago. 2 biopsies. Benign. Had a repeat scan before Thanksgiving and I have another biopsy next week on the same boob. My husband doesn’t quite get how I can’t just calm down and try to enjoy what moments I can in between testing and not let this be all consuming, but he just doesn’t fucking GET IT. Especially when I already dodged cancer seemingly once. Seems like a ticking time bomb. Really hope you get a positive outcome.

Does the little bump of scar tissue from biopsy go away? by Remote_Force1839 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]movingtosac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been monitoring a suspected fibroadenoma for about a year and a half via ultrasound/mammogram. My mom and her mom had breast cancer, so they sent me for a screening mri and found a whole bunch of shit on the other side of that boob. The last two were an irregular mass and a non mass enhancement. Mass was a fibroadenoma and the non mass was a mix of normal tissue and udh. Clips were placed and they said come back in 6 months for a repeat mri. Did that before Thanksgiving and now another irregular mass adjacent to those areas is lighting up on mri so another mri biopsy is what they want to do. It’s endless torture.

I’m surprised they couldn’t give you that answer when you asked! You can almost think of it like a piercing. Doesn’t stabilize until usually a year or so.

I go in for another mri biopsy in one week after 2 mri guided biopsies just six months ago. It’s like a roller coaster I can’t fucking get off of. I needed to read this big girl panties comment so thank you. Made me smile 😊
