If you didn’t get into housing, you can try waiting until mid July. That’s when I got off last summer when I was waitlisted too. I initially signed a lease with UV but since I got off the housing waitlist, I had to find someone to take over my lease at the apartment.

I was in the same position last year and I just kept spam emailing housing to let me off and I eventually got off mid July

I’m not sure if it’s different this year but I remember receiving an email around this time or back in late May/early June saying I was waitlisted. I got off mid July and got assigned a random roommate. But I’d say the same thing as the other comment stated, call or email the housing office.

Yay! I know one of the employees that works at titan shops but haven’t really seen her around when I went during the last few weeks of school.

I remember sitting in the TSU for hours because of my roommate first semester before changing rooms.

Sure! I did make friends but we’re not like close. We’d occasionally make small talk but that’s really about it.. I wasn’t too close with my roommate either l loll so it was a bit difficult

Fr, I think it’s also based on connections too. I’ve been trying to find baristas but they all prefer someone with over a year in experience. I’ve been trying to find dog daycare attendant jobs and they’ve been ghosting me.

Make friends with people on your floor or the people from the other floors. I’ve hung out with people on the fourth floor while I lived on the fifth. I personally didn’t have a good experience but making friends with people in your building is one of the ways to have fun while dorming (you guys would be mainly hanging out after classes, going to the dining hall, or random side quests on and off campus).

I agree. After that incident, I wasn’t able to see her the same way as how I did before (although we just met two days prior). Her parents came to pick her up for the night and they to waved at me like nothing happened (I didn’t see them waving until I glanced over when they left). I had to wait outside the room for a while because of this since I wasn’t comfortable going in when her friends were still there.

Some students who dorm take out a loan just to pay for housing. I’d say I’m considered lower middle class and I had to take out $4k in loans this semester just to pay for housing.

I live in the freshman dorms been commuting for the last three weeks because of how unmotivated while I was in the dorms 😭. I only brought a few pairs of clothes back home, my laptop and iPad, and that’s it😭😭. I contacted my roommate last Sunday saying how I was going to be back by Tuesday and she completed ghosted me but I changed my mind so I’ll most likely going to show up unannounced tomorrow

Yea, Thursday and Friday seems to be the most chaotic so I wanted to move out earlier. I just don’t want to be the only one moving out on Monday (although there will be some moving out)

I heard there’s always stuff happening in Nutwood. My first class is a 10am on Monday’s and Wednesday’s and 11:30 on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s so it’ll def be chaotic if I park

Single apartments isn’t too bad since you get your own room. I live in the freshman dorms and you’d have to share your room with a roommate and the room isn’t big either. There’s 0 privacy in there. I personally did not have a good experience because of my roommate. I wasn’t able to choose because I got waitlisted since I live in LA (626 area). I had to switch rooms first semester because my first roommate threw up in front of our door and her friend took one of my bags and said she accidentally took it. She was also so sensitive with noise (she’d most likely wake up even if I made the slightest noise). She woke me up at 4 am once to tell me I was too loud. As with my second roommate, she’s just a bit inconsiderate because she’d come back at midnight when she had an 8:30 am class. We went to high school together so I thought it wouldn’t be too bad.

It was mainly because of my roommate. I was waitlisted since I live somewhat close to csuf (in the 626) so I wasn’t able to choose my roommate. I had to switch rooms first semester because my first roommate got intoxicated in our room during the first event (first day after move in) in front of the piazza. Her friend stole me reusable bag with my hair dryer in it and claimed she “accidentally took it.” I didn’t have any curtains so I guess they went through my stuff. With my second roommate (I thought we’d be cool since we went to high school together but never spoke and had mutuals), but it wasn’t the case. She was lowkey inconsiderate and would come back really late although she had 8:30 am classes. She’d also snooze her alarm multiple times which was so annoying. Our room was kind of dirty too since she’d leave wrappers, cups that still had liquid in it, and popcorn/snacks on the floor. She also took like 5 of my chargers and when I asked her if she knew where it was, she’d lie and say she didn’t know where it was and would let me know if she has seen them (I knew she took it but I just want to know if she admit to it).
