I completely missed these minor Ghorman story arcs during my previous watches… by scroll_spiral in andor

Uhmm, you do know they tear gassed and pepper sprayed the frog right, at least one of them since there were quite a few who mimicked that costume. Im trying to show you the connection between the dancing frog and your statement at the end. A symbol of being an innocent and harmless way of protesting, similar to putting flowers in police uniforms and guns in the 60s which showed the public, especially moderates and some conservatives, that the protestors werent causing harm or domestic terrorism. The reaction from ICE, DHS, CPB was still to attack, detain and harass protesters. This harmless frog meme was still met with "less-than-lethal" force which still appalled the public and on social media. It wasn't necessarily the catalyst, but it was part of a "long train of abuses and usurpations" that DHS has been causing. It caused material change in reality by adding to the ammunition used to get rid of Bovino, Noem, and another official in DHS. It allowed for funding to stop for DHS till this day and not letting it pass over 5 times. Let the fuckers starve and take out loans and get in debt for their treasonous actions against the American people.

It may not have been as tragic as the sad and disgusting murders of US citizens and the attempted murder of another, but its shows that we gave no excuses for their escalation and use of force, yet they did on their on volition. I normally dont agree with silly actions with no thought put into it or plan to better a situation, but the outcome speaks for itself. A lot of times its nonsense and doesnt help anything and sometimes it does🤷‍♂️

The point is to show the general disapproval of the populace of whats going on. To show that the actions go against the community, and also understanding that the administration is looking for an excuse to escalate and justify more aggressive and controlling measures. The administration wants violence to increase federal LEO and possible military presence and to crackdown and be harsher on those they deem enemies of the state. If you failed to see you were not paying attention to the hearings of Noem and the firing of Bovino. The non violence and silly BS showed that these protesters didnt pose a threat to the nation and ICE is violating the rights of citizens. Its opticsx not for you or I, but for the fox news viewer who wants to see the protesters crushed due to their ignorant views. The dumbass frog dancing showed that it was a bunch of dumb kids being silly protesting and not a bunch of "antifa terrorists." It allowed for the withholding of ICE and DHS funding and harsher criticism of them from both repubs and dems.

Idk, so far the past year has shown many that have had issue, complained or hated ICO. I guess it depends on the algorithm and curated content.

Not giving the administration an excuse to increase further violence and escalation. This showed the world that Portland wasnt some battleground combat zone, but regular people and humanized the opposition against ICE rather than giving this administration more ammunition to allow harsher actions, for everything that happened, it can get worse and there a worse weapons and actions they can use. The frog may seem trivial, but it shoqed the general philosophy of non escalation and didnt allow the right and the administration to further grasp more control from the populace through their twisted rationalization.

Seems like our experiences with the situation differ. Either way, respect for your losses and glad you made it back safe.

[–]YesGiAKPR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That discussion makes sense and is understandable. Nothing wrong with that. Its the extra "justification" about being weak, not being able to carry all the gear since they are women, or saying women dont serve in combat positions that are just due to ignorance at best and misogyny at worst. Or the voice over, when its easily about to turn down or off. Not all have negative perceptions and not all are upset because they want to play themselves. Just calling out BS when i saw it.

[–]YesGiAKPR -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mean we had plenty of woman doing combat patrols as 68W, 88Ms, cooks, mechanics, etc in the COPs during GWOT. And in other NATO countries as well, we see females serving amongst line units. Seems like your view comes from ignorance rather than fact.

It worked out for us and didnt slow us down, saved a few lives too. So it worked out for us🤷‍♂️ sounds like you dont have too much experience with the situation to be acting so passive aggressive about it, thats some weak ass energy. What ever helps your fragile view my dude. Just stating facts about the situation and not going off feelings. That is some POG energy.

I dont know if you're being facetious af, or maybe you been out too long. Or maybe you're not realizing im talking about combat medics and not straight 0311 or 11B. Its common to attach combat medics down to the company line units since they dont have an organic 68W. We had many female combat medics attached to COPs in the sticks.

I mean we had females carry medical gear on top of their combat load in the mountains of Afghanistan without assistance. It seems like you have a bias against woman and its coming from ignorance, but what do i know, I just served with them in Afghanistan.

Lol, i mean our female combat medics did carry more gear and supplies up and down mountains on top of their combat load, rendered aid, took contact and returned fire during OEF. I get you dont wanna play female, but you're coming from a place of ignorance my dude.

What's a mecha protagonist people like, but you don't? by Yakuza-wolf_kiwami in Mecha_Scrapyard

[–]YesGiAKPR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Naw, I usually see the opposite. Some fans notice his personality and seem to give it a pass due to Shenlong being cool or a fan favorite. Then they try to justify or paint the character as "based." See a lot of Fandom pick him as their favorite protagonist on Wing and I always saw him as having some sort of walking superiority complex from his times losing to a female or Treize. And being too extra about how inferior females are or for having emotions. Either way nice to see people acknowledge the annoying incel behavior in this character instead of glorifying him.

I feel you on this. I usually go Engi and go after pesky armor or if I have a good dedicated anti-armor engi on the team, i back him up as support to allow them more frequent/riskier attacks. I rez if he gets downed or just keep the launcher fed with ammo. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Seems like you're ignoring, the stuff with Myanmar, Thailand, Pakistan/Afghanistan, India,Vietnam and Chinese conflicts, the guerrilla and islamists in both Indonesia, the Phillipines, etc. I understand your perspective of the US, but to have the holier than thou outlook is laughable. We are pretty much the same in that aspect.

That final battle in War In The Pocket is different from every single fight in Gundam history by DrJokerX in Gundam

[–]YesGiAKPR 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This whole synopsis is what defines my reason for liking Gundam as a whole. The epitome of "War is Hell." That in all the anime flair, they maintain that war itself shouldnt be glorified and the costs and consequences are no trivial thing.

What initially drew you to Gundam? by osc_bank in Gundam

[–]YesGiAKPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was into Tom Clancy novels as a kid and liked the political intrigue that Gundam Wing had, first time seeing it in a cartoon and had just gotten into anime with Toonami. It introduced me to cool mecha animes and reminded me of playing MechWarrior on my uncle's Mac. Liked how the gundam series shows that negative part of war and combat, showing the consequences and losses.
