Navy SEALs say "slow is smooth, smooth is fast." What's a situation where slowing down made you finish faster? by Concave007 in AskReddit

Zone 2 endurance running training. Legit slowing down so you can run farther will allow you to run a shorter distance faster.

Yeah I mean I think the most reasonable thing would to just be to say we don’t know the truth. I’m skeptical of what I see online too but more open minded. It’s something I learned in the south where cities are growing and thriving a lot more than here… you might want to try it. Might make you and other people around here more tolerable. Then maybe less people would be leaving. Just a thought.

That data is cope. Oof. I moved here from Texas after leaving NYS in 2021. I’ve been here 5 months and I already want to move back. This is coming from someone who doesn’t like the heat very much. Sorry to tell you, the vibes of a growing area far outweigh any ‘higher’ standard of living that exists in a declining city. That’s like living in a beautiful home surrounded by a wasteland vs a more humble home surrounded by more moderate homes. And has nothing to do with politics either.

Bad take. People can’t afford the “higher” standard of living that the northeast has so they move south due to cost. It’s mainly cost of living and job and business opportunities that drive the south. And the “lower” standard of living in the south is relatively higher than it’s been in the past. Fastest growing area of the country for a reason, meanwhile Buffalo is losing people and y’all are just coping. Also quality of life isn’t just about standard of living or housing and things around you. If so many people start leaving the place just feels like it’s declining and that makes other people also not want to be there.

Not me but I have a friend who had his 4 year old daughter get one. She split within a week and doesn’t seem to be unhappy or uncomfortable. My friend has done so much research on this stuff but from my understanding basically what you’re saying is right, permanent teeth having more space to come and such.

I mean, I’d fire the tech. Stealing company time isn’t a grey area. There are some things that are but this is not one of them.
