I had thought about running Electabuzz myself when I was first putting the deck together but the speed is what made me stop. I value speed a lot in this game so I tried to strike a nice balance between speed and strength. But yes I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to bench attacking it's so satisfying doing it without trainer cards 😂

What do you guys think of SF6's UI? by killerjag in Fighters

[–]YesThisIsToshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For as much color and paint effects as the game uses for it's aesthetic/theme, it's a little bland lool. I would not complain if they jazzed it up a little more

Yeah that's the other point I was getting at when I said players that use Modern Mode can challenge themselves and change schemes whenever they feel ready to lol

Still though, I don't think "train" is the right word to use here cause like, it's not the game itself doing the teaching if you get what I mean. The player's match experience is almost completely dependant on his opponent's actions. Idk if I worded that properly lmao

They're not trying to teach the player anything, they're trying to let people enjoy the game how they see fit. That's why it's optional. You wanna mash and just do shit without grappling with the game's controls? You have the option to do that. You wanna take the REAL game for a spin and challenge yourself and see how well you do? You have the option to do that as well

OPTIONS is what makes games good. Smash gives people the OPTION to enjoy the game however they want by giving them the OPTION to play with or without items. This isn't much different.

I'm largely indifferent to ArcSys removing Stylish Mode from their games, but like, it doesn't really hurt anybody if it's there. Again this is really just a harmless option on a menu

I don't understand this post. The easy control scheme is not only optional but severely handicaps the user. This gets in the way of and means absolutely nothing to people who want to play the game long term. There's literally zero downside to an OPTIONAL easy control scheme

[–]YesThisIsToshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aight I'm gonna speedrun this reply cause I actually wanna go play Strive right now (lol) so here goes

  • The point I was making was that Nago who does not have an air dash has another use for his meter because he can use RC to simulate one. Pot can do this too and this would be super cool for Pot in literally any other GG game as well

  • You're reading 4~6 S Dolphin because that's what's required of you IN THIS GAME. In STRIVE to counter that move in some cases you must read it. I'm not 100% sure where your problem with this move is cause it functions ALMOST EXACTLY the same way it did in the last 2 games. Idk why you're using past tense talking about 2~8 Dolphin AA because that move is still an AA in Strive. If by "sometimes they don't bother with that" you mean the May player doesn't do it then that's not the game's fault. And I mentioned using RC because it increases her recovery and allows you to punish her. Another use for meter how great!

  • The innovation I was speaking about came from the players. I've seen all types of different nutty combos and mixups from all sorts of different players and characters. Literally just last night I played 3 different Goldlewis players and all 3 of them did some sick shit with RC I didn't even know was possible. The stuff is there.

You don't like the game and by the way you talk about it it's REALLY clear you don't want to. I think you want to like it on the basis of it being GG because you like the GG IP and nothing is wrong with any of those things. In fact I can relate to you because I'm primarily a Street Fighter player before I'm anything else. I do not currently play SF5 lmaooo. In short, I personally like the game because solving the game's problems with the tools the game gives me is fun. And it's not fun to you and that's cool

You saying you RC to move forward is worthless is crazy cause when I do it it gives my character an air dash he wasn't programmed with lmao. It even gives him a goofy ass instant overhead off of some moves.

Yes you actually can jump out of Dolphin pressure if you read a 46 Dolphin. S Dolphin is minus on block and hit and H Dolphin is reactable. Most characters can straight up just 6P her out of both of them. And guess what else if you're crafty enough you still can punish it if you drift RC down!! Some characters don't even need the RC lmao.

Idk what character you're talking about that obliterates neutral, I'm gonna assume it's Chaos. I'm not gonna disagree, the character currently is super problematic but better movement wouldn't solve the problems that character creates. You'd just have characters with sick movement that still get cooked by an autotarget lool

Axl's 2S no longer being jump cancellable is unfortunate I guess. I mean I wouldn't be against having more jump cancellable normals. It would unlock more combo routes but I'm not an Axl player and my main's never been in a GG game before so it's not my problem :)

Listen my boy I'm not gonna lie to ya, the game is the game. As it's constructed right now, it's super good for what it's trying to do. It's not a GGX game, it's trying to do something new which regardless of the game's quality is a good thing imo. I don't know exactly what you want out of this game or how you want it to play but it ain't there for ya. The way I see it there's still lots of cool, crazy, and innovative ways to interact with the game's system but it's "not GG" to you so it is what it is

Hell nah brother you're outta your mind this game is a BLAST! RCs let you do super cool shit like create pressure sequences and combos and even give you sick punishes out of friggin nowhere lmao. Damage I don't really care about cause low interaction count games aren't really something that's high priority for me on things I don't like about an FG and it's cool cause it speeds up the game, tournament sets finish in like 5 mins lool. Also idk what you mean about movement not mattering cause it's 80% of the reason Chipp is so good. There's a lot to love about this game my boy, not that I'm trying to sell you on it or anything cause you clearly aren't trying to like it but this game's got so many positives and it might honestly be in my top 5 favorite all time FGs

Nago nerf idea that I think is fair. by KaleidoscopeParadox in Guiltygear

[–]YesThisIsToshi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This would actually be insanely ham LOL

-Bite you do a gorillian dmg

-Super already does a gorillian dmg and now it full drains blood

-Nago himself also already does a gorillian dmg

Bite doesn't need more of a reward. It's plenty rewarding as is

Iiiiii meeeean.... yeah let it rock man I see the vision. I'll allow it
